My favourite party time at the Zone, hand's down, is New Year's day. It's freakin awesome. Excellent crowd all day and the music is SLAMMING.

In fact, I don't even bother going out on New Year's Eve anymore - I just set my alarm for 5am, and head to the Zone for 24 hours of partying. WAY better than any NYE party.

LOL!

agreed, that is what I do.

I won't even ride my bike if I've been drinking or on drugs, I certainly wouldn't ever drive. I have a friend who thinks he can handle his booze. He can, but not like he thinks. He's been drinking and driving for years. One night last summer he drove into the back of a parked TTC Wheeltrans van while drunk. When he showed up at home he wasn't even sure what he had hit he was so drunk. Unfortunately my brother and another friend went with him to the scene and helped him clean up any evidence that may have led to him. He's lucky I wasn't there, I'd have turned the bastard in. Maybe then he'd have learned his lesson. For about 6 months he wouldn't drive after drinking, now he's back at it again.

Thank you.

I am seldom controversial or confrontational on this board because it is not in my nature so I picked a post to quote that I agreed with rather than singling one out that made my blood boil.

Those of you who get in a car in ANY state be it over tired, drunk or off your face/sketched want ing shooting. Really you do. Before you kill someone else.

My nana was killed in a car accident when I was 5 by some old bitch that slept at the wheel. My grandad and my uncle were in intensive care for 6 months, built back together with plates and bolts.

Every time you get in a car, you have a more lethal weapon in your hands than a loaded gun.

Think about that.

And if your life isn't worth $60, I can guarantee you that your family and the family of your potential victims would vehemently disagree with you.

Exactly what I've been trying to say this entire time...it doesn't matter what it is...drinking, drugs or just bring tired...even if you're by yourself in a car, you not only are risking your own life but the lives of everyone else out there!

P.S. Sorry about your grandmother

I am certainly not implying that the majority of the of Comfort Zone goers are upstanding citizens. In fact, I believe it to be quite the opposite. What I was pointing out was the attitude of people who think that their group of friends are the only non-sketchy people in the entire room.

And as for your comment about 2 distinct groups of people in The Zone, I don't think it's as black and white as that at all. What exactly would these 2 groups be? Sketchy people, and non-sketchy people? I think that's oversimplifying the issue. What classifies someone as sketchy?

I meant the classification that Sarah gave, she was completely on my wavelength.

Point is, we all look at ourselves and our friends be it at the Zone or at work or in a bar, whatever, as being more 'normal' than other people, that's just life, and that is why we hang out with the people that we do.

I actually like the mix of people (on headliner days rather than residents judging by my 2 visits) and my comment to you was just that I was a little shocked that you were shocked by people thinking they are less sketchy than the majority of cz punters....

Like I said, I love it! I love it more when there are lots of people I know... And let's shake our booties on the 29th ;)

most memerable sunday @ the zone hands down is Sarahs Sketchie birthday (high-five, high-five, high-five, high-five, high-five, high-five, lol)

someone asked about violence or sumping back at the beginning of the thread. int he 3 or 4 years i've been partying there, i've only seen two incdents, both times it was on the back patio, with some of the dwellers back there. and i've never seen a group of big guys ( cozo security) move so quickly and effciently through a crowd to break up said incidents and remove the participants from the properly, i always wondered why the fences had locks and hinges... after that first time.. i understood why.

hands down I <3 CZ.

Shh... don't tell anyone else. It is already busy enough and we don't want the haters thinking that is a good day to test the zone.. :D

Due to not wanting to single anyone out and risk getting into a bitch slapping fight with said characters, I am not at liberty to discuss them over a public message board.

I will be happy to do so in person, and most people already are aware of my favourite list of zone comic book heroes, the best of which being "Go Big or Go Home".

Says so much yet so little all at the same time..

The Go Big or Go Home tour has been spending a lot of time at home since the summer ended...

Thanks Lisa. I think my point is for people to realize the cause and effect of their actions... If me telling this story on here stops just 1 person from DUI and hurting themselves or someone else, then it was worth it.

I am probably going to have a nightmare about it now, like I always do when I think about it for more than a few seconds but again, that is worth it if it stops just one person.

Sorry for the depressing nature of this...

On a lighter note, I can't wait for Mr. Attalla himself to come back and for all you CZ virgins, I think his return should be the day to try the deep, dark and dirty basement that we affectionately fear and adore! There should be at least 30 TAs there for that so you will feel right at home!!

Now I'm really looking forward to New Year's day at the Zone - except it's on a Monday. And I have to work tuesday.

This does not bode well.

I saw it posted on The Go Big or Go Home Fanclub site that there is a reunion tour scheduled, no dates confirmed yet, but looks like Going Big is going to be cool again!
