That's not totally true! Guys like Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills, Derreck May, Beltram, Hawtin and Misstres Barbara to name a few, are appreciated much in Europe. But they are hardly mentioned in this list. |

I like DJ Dan. He's just a good party DJ (I'm not talking about his technical ability or anything. Just he knows how to make a crowd have a lot of fun)....
BUT...
To be straight up honest, I don't even see americans who are interested in this poll voting for Dan that much. The appeal this magazine has it for people who aren't his diehard fanbase.
And actually, he's more of, what we like to call here in SF, a bridge and tunnel DJ. He brings out tons of people but they are people without a lot of knowledge of EDM and don't really give a rats ass about DJMag.
Anyhow, I think something with the system is seriously flawed. Somehow someone exploited it or something. Because that list is just rank in how it's setup. I think rumors of backend issues with last year's poll might be true now.
I'm not saying any DJ or company they are involved in are responsible. It might be some crazed fan or group, I dunno, but this list is just seriously ed up.
I dunno. It's just all fishy to me.

Misstress Barbara is Canadian and I actually wonder how many people incorrectly think Hawtin is German |

That was the discussion of choice at lunch today. Alot of the picks make me scratch my head and really make zero sense. The DJ Mag poll is the biggest way to get gigs internationaly which means alot of $$$....fishy indeed |

You are exactly correct. These guys are not in the top 50 of any other poll, yet the most important one they are in the top 5. Every other Dj is pretty close to the same spots on almost all the polls.
And dont give me this BS about more votes coming from the US, If someone is manipulating the votes and they are in the US, then then of course the US will have a high number of votes. and 6 Isreali DJs??? come one, not to be politically incorrect or anything, but Isreali's had alot more important things to worry about this year than voting. There is no question in my mind that these votes were manipulated. I hope that DJ mag investigates it, but they dont care because all of this controversy is only making them the talk of the industry. That is after all the only reason they do this poll, for the publicity for their magazine. |

| so i wanna know why all you guys think dan doesnt deserve 5? to be honest i dont think djmag should include house.trance.dnb.djs all together. on another note dan has been hitting the westocast hard for many years. he has good solid beats and never has played a bad set imo. he has tons of energy, and never has a dull moment. he always has teh freshest tracks. so how can you say he doesnt deserve #1. you guys should be happy that we own house. so why does he not deserve it? and j00f should definetly have been in the top 10 as well. |
