so i wanna know why all you guys think dan doesnt deserve 5? to be honest i dont think djmag should include house.trance.dnb.djs all together. on another note dan has been hitting the westocast hard for many years. he has good solid beats and never has played a bad set imo. he has tons of energy, and never has a dull moment. he always has teh freshest tracks. so how can you say he doesnt deserve #1. you guys should be happy that we own house. so why does he not deserve it? and j00f should definetly have been in the top 10 as well. |
one region of a country does not make for enough votes when the entire world is voting...unless something fishy is going on. |

You are exactly correct. These guys are not in the top 50 of any other poll, yet the most important one they are in the top 5. Every other Dj is pretty close to the same spots on almost all the polls.
And dont give me this BS about more votes coming from the US, If someone is manipulating the votes and they are in the US, then then of course the US will have a high number of votes. and 6 Isreali DJs??? come one, not to be politically incorrect or anything, but Isreali's had alot more important things to worry about this year than voting. There is no question in my mind that these votes were manipulated. I hope that DJ mag investigates it, but they dont care because all of this controversy is only making them the talk of the industry. That is after all the only reason they do this poll, for the publicity for their magazine. |
I think the difference between DJ mag and the other polls is that this is the main one that DJs seem to focus their PR efforts on. I got tons of spam emails and MySpace messages this year, some of them from DJs whose lists I wasn't even on. That is hardcore promotion.
I have even read that DJs even go as far as hiring PR and marketing people to handle the DJ mag campaigns for them.
You also have to take into account that if you get a lot of people from one country that vote for their local DJs at #1, that is going to affect the outcome. Just because we have not heard about 6 DJs from Israel, it doesn't mean that the Israeli's aren't fanatical about them and going to work hard on voting for them. We can't pretend to know everything about every dance music scene in the world and who is popular there.
I feel sorry for DJ mag, every year people gripe and complain and criticize them and they have tried to tighten up the voting by introducing the email system where you have to confirm your vote.
You can't please all of the people all of the time. There will always be people that disagree with the results because they don't conform to their taste, or their notion of how popular each DJ is. |

Well, looks like I'm the :o
I'm really not a big fan, but I did know he's been in Miami for some time and was in Arizona before that. When did he move here, and did he start DJing in Germany, or in the US? |

I think he mentioned in an interview he moved with his parents to the US when he was 13. Dunno where he started DJing, but his style sounds not very German. |

I can understand CL, and DJ Dan has done a lot of work in the remix world, and has seemingly done a lot of touring this year...but....things that make me go wtf arrrrre:
Sander K...down 7: I know that he was ill and scratched a lot of gigs, and there was the whole uproar about him using that time to go play in Ibiza...but...I've listened to a LOT of his live sets this year, seen him live at Ultra...and even though the track is cheese now....This Is Miami...huge ing tune that EVERYONE rocked down in south florida, not to mention he did the Sensation anthem this year.....yes...i'm a huge sander k fan...but still...the man deserves to at least stay even...and not go down 7.....::sigh::
Infected Mushroom up to number 12: ....Love em to death...but are you kidding me?
JZ down 8: ...one of the most talented DJ's in my opinion...8 isn't a huge jump though...well...it is considering he doesn't do much album work really...but...down 8?
DJ Sammy....I don't even need to say anything about this...
Axwell: Seems a bit low on the carts to me considering all the choons he's put out this year, and all the sick remix work he's done...
Mad respect to Sander Van Doorn though...he deserves that spot for sure...as does Angello....but i'm sure Ingrosso must be pretty pissed! |
