can't we just stop American voting?
Actually i'd really like to see how the voting went from the countries with large EDM fanbases.
The booooos DJ Dan (and Tiesto) got at the DJ Mag awards were hillarious, ing awesome night though. |

I am so sick of those top 3 DJ's on the list. Also I am surpised about cheese DJ Sammy making it up higher on the list this year aswell as George Acosta too.
Who the hell Amadues to make new entry.
Well I'm pissed ATB has gotten down 4 spots but 104 would have been one less idiot on the list.
Happy about DJ Dan and Christopher Lawerance making it high up since the top 10 looked list looked stale for last year |

Best list ever!
Can't wait to see DJ Amadeus zoom up to the Top 3 next year. His Amadeus Only sets will be the stuff of legends...as he will be the only person in attendance.
I hope to see Country and Yodel underground DJs debut in the Top 10 next year. They'll surely inject new life into our beloved scene. |

Djs have been trying to break into the american market for years, for this very reason... Doesn't mean that America deserves to be considered as dance capital or something, just becasue you guys spend the most.
Dance music still has very little respect in your country.99% of you guys still call anything with a steady repetitive 4x4 beat "TECHNO". |

The funny thing is that with this sort of music there's just so much variety, and so many options...
everyone here has heard different sets, and different artists, and different proportions of each artists. None of us here have heard the same stuff, none of us have the same collections of sets. Hence, we all form an opinion according to our own little narrow vision of the huge EDM world.
And it all comes out in threads like these when everybody shoots off opinions and emotions about artists and each other's tastes.
Some sets by the same DJ can be AWESOME, but others can be utter e. The reality is, the more you like a particular DJ, the more likely you are to research into him, and find the stuff you love. THe more you find the stuff you love, the more you will love him.
Yes, there's every chance that these votes are rigged. It's very easy to cast atleast 20-30 votes if you know a thing or two about computers. But the reality is that n00bs to this scene just find it so big and mind blowing they don't know where the hell to start. ALl of the knowledge and passion of EDM ususally winds up in closed little elitists circles that just bitch about everything. Quiete frankly, n00bs have no choice but to treat EDM the same way they treated the MTV scene they were into before they got into EDM. They don't know any different.
IT really pisses me off, that little polls like DJmag, where ANYONE can vote has so much influence on such a broad scene, and can narrow it down to the DJs or DJ fanbases who simply spammed the most. This sort of is really reaking up the place.
What's sadder, is that polls like this are what club managers who know nothing about the scene rely on to decide who to hire in their clubs.
Thanks for completely and utterly ing everything up.
I think i'll just stick to TA polls. Even then, i'd say our polls could be a hell of a lot better. |
