why do people need all these labels as an excuse for their actions?

The kid went on a rampage because he was pissed at his g/f or something involving a girl and decided to carry on his rage.
I'm sorry, labeling people is just so idiotic & it doesn't make any sense.

what the ? lol

all the diplomas in the world will not make this kid "smart". he obviously was a little ing weakling who can't deal w/ common bull that comes your way in life. of COURSE they are going to label him as being ed in the head. that's not exactly something normal people do when they get pissed off at their significant others. lol

De-humanise him before he seems normal: that's what they're going to do right now. Not because there's a conspiracy or anything - it isn't because of how the media works. It isn't because it happened in America or anything. It's how society works - he must be now placed as someone that wasn't part of the community, otherwise this would show the fragility of society as a whole.

ah yes it's fine to label the fuker CRAZY but not MANIC DEPRESSIVE & LONER

how the fuk do they know this kid wasn't a little druggie socialite who was just an unstable person?

I'm sorry but there isn't a disorder for every murdering bastard in this world.

Plain evil would be the best description.

You cant be serious, for a generic example how bout after 911 everyone sat around and said well clearly they were just some smart guys who decided to fly a plane into a building, ok problem solved. They want to know why it happend so they can 'try' prevent it from happening again.

The loner comment is relevent, because it can show signs of social problems, and the maniac depressive is due to the fact he was on anti-depresents, which seems pretty relevent since its not completly out of the ordinary for someone with depression issues to do something very irational.

Ok perhaps my "smart" comment was a bit far fetched but I just don't agree with labeling every single murder with a disorder.

Pure evil in this world exists, slapping it with a label is saying there is a reason for it. I'm sorry I've known bi-polar people that have absolutely no desire to get upset with a significant other & massacre their peers.

Society would have everyone believe that because he might have been on medication he was being "treated for a disorder." He could have just been an unstable druggie who had no regard for anyone else's lives.

I think this kid is (was) an MK Ultra psyop like the snipers in DC.

Theyre just trying to find connections, because the public wants it, and the people involved want answers. It doesnt mean that was the cause, but it could have played a part. Unfortunatly im sure people will walk away from this and get the idea that kids on anti-depressents are always unstable, but thats because the worlds got to many idiots.

On a side note im supprised with a whole day past that they havent raided his house and blamed his video games and taste in music. Thats where the media really shines!

Exactly my point!
The media probes at the wrong things but it won't change, I'm just tired of hearing their ridiculous theories.
Boomer187
well whenever the media starts going on about how the killer was depressed, a loner and those other things I don't think they are saying it causes people to kill. I know they are talking about correlations of murderous behavior. There are commonalities among certain serial killers, spree killers, and mass murders. They are pointing them out, but it is up to the people to interpret this correctly. It would help a LOT more if they placed proper emphasis on the fact that correlation does not equal causation, but they tend to never mention that. So it is up to us to interpret their story correctly.

and what is strange is that this kid does not fit the typical description of this type of a killer. Usually older and white. :-/

Yea they do a good job of making him sound crazy...

Cho had shown recent signs of violent, aberrant behavior, according to an investigative source, including setting a fire in a dorm room and allegedly stalking some women.

Cho was an English major whose creative writing was so disturbing that he was referred to the school's counseling service, the Associated Press reported.

Professor Carolyn Rude, chairwoman of the university's English department, said she did not personally know the gunman. But she said she spoke with Lucinda Roy, the department's director of creative writing, who had Cho in one of her classes and described him as "troubled."

"There was some concern about him," Rude said. "Sometimes, in creative writing, people reveal things and you never know if it's creative or if they're describing things, if they're imagining things or just how real it might be. But we're all alert to not ignore things like this."

Shash said the gunman spent a lot of his free time playing basketball, and wouldn't respond if someone greeted him.
