Yes, because that would ruin an otherwise briliant thread.

As opposed to what? If you're gonna be that stingy about it, then everything has been done before.

Burial is probably more innovative than all the other artists you mentioned. UK Garage, dub, ambient/environmental samples, manipulated vocals and really roots/low budget production has never been done in such a way before.

So unless you want to back your statements up with examples...

I don't see how it can be wrong, given it's an autonomous compiler of average scores. Metacritic shows what the critics liked, and they did indeed like Burial.

The statement was not serious genius!doh...

Like you've heard ALL the artists i mentioned...

And what the heck, "Environmental sounds, ultra-distorted-supra-synths bla bla bla whatever its just two-note dubbed-out sounds with the occasional typical uk garage vocalist yea very experimental and musical...

It is good but its not something extraordinary...its ok for the car.
Ian

Please point out where you've heard all that before in one place. Saying "Oh, that's a jungle bassline! I've heard this before man, this is old" is such ing bull.

So funny that you don't say the same thing about your beloved stale indie rock. Talk about self-referentialism.

Yeh, man, its so innovative, it has a garage rhythm, a reverbarated soulfull vocal and a two-note ambient-line wow how did he thought of that futuristic, complex, musical and groundbreaking combination!?

Seriously this is not groundbreaking or experimental or anything like that. Neither is rich in musical textures, it is ridiculously simple. If you think that this is experimental or complex you are truly clueless about music in general.

Now, thats because its not experimental or complex, it doesn't mean that it is NOT good. It is, thats why it got the recognition it deserved. It is a kind of raw and dark yet simple and accessible sound full of hooks and nice atmosphere that stucks in the mind of the listener. Nothing more nothing less.

What stale indie-rock?
