Ahhhh he played original version of Crush, I have been waiting to hear that for years. My face hurts from smiling. :)
Also sampled white stripes, funkagenda, prodigy, cressida and general assortment of pvd tunes - including new version of for an angel.
I only stayed for PVD, great night :) |

..."there's a time for us to let go..."
Freedom mainly consisted of an entire day for me rather than just a night. A dinner premeet up with Intangible, Sash21, MikeyN and Search&Rescue at the (coughs) ok Pickle Barrell lol was a nice way to start things. We moved it on over to Barb's place after for the preparty, Sasha got supposedly a bug in her eye on the way over, I wonder if she ever got it out :p
We get to the wonderful complex called the Jazz building (cheeky) tell them we are doing a RAID! no one opens up! maybe they believed us LOL. Anyways then caught up with Jeff, Sasha and a few others there. Some people were already gone, very cute. Taking the nice long walk over was filmed and I am sure some very embarassing stuff will be making its way to the internet.
Getting in did not take too long, so I must say the lineup was better organized this time. Got in to quickly explore the area and see what was happening where, place was still fairly wide open. Got back in for M.O's usually boring set. He dropped a few good tunes nothing spectacular. Nice mix of Silence he threw in there and then he played a tune I never heard before it kept going "I Remember..." was very nice, it was around 1215ish if anyone knows.
PVD came on at 1 as expected and got a very very nice welcome. Went right up the front, for the most part people were pretty good. Saw Eddie come out a few times during the set heh heh. PVD was in a pretty good mood and looked to be enjoying himself a lot. Crowd went nuts for him. I loved the vibe in there for his set, good job! the man the DJ does it yet again, saving the night. (Thanks Jeff for telling me his set time, woulda sucked if he really went on at 5 like certain people said he would) PVD went till 330 which I was very happy about, I was hoping he'd go till 4, guess not :( Eddie came on and started off well. Surprisingly I did not hang out much for his set, but he was doing a good job. He dropped the new Inertia - The System, which was way cool.
Passed by the gallery and they were playing the same crap they played earlier, nothin but DnB. Finding my way to the Drink it was too packed! so went back into the mainroom. Eric M playin....yea he was okkkkk nothing fantastic. But I needed the House music to bring me down (ha Tara). Met a very nice girl named Alexandra who was Brazillian. We danced along to Eric's set which made it way better for me heh heh. Left by 6 as I was just not feeling his set anymore. Place opened up like crazy which was great. Passed by KH on my way out to see what was going on there, EDDIE was still on! looking good but nothing impressive.
Overall a good night out, thanks to the people I met, Barb, Sasha, DJSketch(the other Peter) Invasionmix(Vince), cenik, AJ, jsibillin. Good to see Tara, Sasha S(so glad you decided last min to come), and Jeff again, it is always a pleasure from here on out.
Sketch moment of the night: This guy was COMPLETELY tripped out and was going to jump into the crowd in the mainroom, but these 3 hereos dragged him off the ledge which was damn close! twice! security went MAD looking for him! they do good work.
Wonderful it is now...happy Victoria Day |

| Hats off to Mark oliver. His opening set was absolutely wonderful. It felt like Freedom of years ago. When PVD came on it was pure insanity. It felt as if the number of people instantly doubled in the KH. I was right up front for his entire set and Pvd was loving it.The last 1/2 hour of his set was the most intense. It's like he didn't want Eddie to come on. He just kept building it up and dropping it harder and harder. Eddie was watching in the background for a while. When EH came on he had the crowd right where he wanted them. Eddie's set was great, but didn't do for me what PVD did. Overall it was a great night. Saw lots of familiars. A bit more packed for my liking but the crowd was really friendly. I was high fiving everybody in sight. 8/10. Yeah. |

was finally blessed with a night off and hung around for a bit... Erick was killing it... which is to be expected as always, very talented DJ. The only thing that distracts me about that guy is his striking resemblance (from a distance) to the dood from Prison break. Dekoze was +12'ing it hard n sweaty as always, and a lovely set from Blu to chase it down.
was good to meet up with friends again!
oh, and heres a bit of trivia... my gig, about 6 months ago @ the guv, i left a laptop stand on the booth by accident, and Jose ended up putting it in his office... and upon my arrival, i was greeted by the ever so pleasant Steve... who told me they still had it! needless to say, i was turbo in impressed. So good job to the ink family and guvvy for another great event i was fortunate enough to witness :D |
didnt get anybody kicked out/banned from the guv ???
im dissapointed. |
