SO glad I'm not one of the "damn, WHY did I not go:whip:" saying people reading this thread. (Tara, you rock! <3)
last night was
I totally didn't have any high expectations and was purely looking forward to have another night of good times with new friends that kick-started in what turned out to be a FANTASTIC weekend. yeah!
but Morillo was just wow last night.

But his set wasn't entirely like this, he played a number of tracks with some great, very catchy melodies as well that lightened the mood, but then threw down another deep, dark track that just really got inside of you soon thereafter.
thats exactly why I liked his set last night (although for my personal taste, none of the tracks were deep or dark..surely some banging basslines). he played a bit of proggy tunes as well which was great!
good crowd interaction as well.
didn't spend a whole lot in any of the other rooms..but as someone earlier said, it was great to walk around and see that every room in the building was just insane. (except for the orange room :whip: sorry DnB fans :p)
all in all it was a super end to the long weekend thanks to wonderful friends and even the vibe at edm events in this city.
Mike...you should've got some eye liner from Sasha to complete your Sven Vath image. :wtf:
Sasha...you know your bellydancing girl! ;)
Tara...I am SO looking forward to pumping that adrenaline together with you all this summer. LAWLER + BOAT CRUISE =:eyespop:
good to see you guys again..The Ear, chw, Endlesswave, Knox, Cribby.
nice to meet many of you for the first time..pete242, barbina, Abercrombie, Sasha N, extasie, Vertigo, Geoff, Invasionmix...sorry if I missed anyone out.

PVD was ok...i really enjoyed the last 30 minutes.
Heard about the frist 15 minutes of Eddie's set.
Now to the best part...
Sydney Blu KICK MY ASS!! HOLY CRAP!
I was front and center for the entire set. :eyespop: :eyespop: Highlight of the night for me.

Wow! What an incredible night! Couldn't believe how frigging busy it was. Too tired to post a proper review so I'll cut right to the chase.
Sets of the night - Halliwell and Bad Boy Bill! Wow! These guys tore it up! Eddie's enthusiasm/energy made for such a great vibe. His smiles are contagious. Clearly a man that is in love with what he does. It was great to finally see this guy work the decks like a madman.
Disappointments of the night - PvD. I loved him in November but when I entered KH to check him out I just wasn't in the mood for prog.. or how retardedly busy and hot KH was. That was enough to make me head back to where I came from.
Honorable mention: Was really impressed by Alex Peace! Great way to start the night (for those who arrived midnight or later). Felix was also really good as well. I wasn't thrilled with the start of Morillo's set but later on he was dropping nothing but sick hard beats. Interesting remix of "I Like To Move It".
Other: was anyone else in The Drink when Felix effed up a mix and came on the mic (actually headphones) and said 'sorry.. I ed up that mix.. but I promise I'm going to make it up to you...' Too funny.
Great job on the main floor patio! It looks great and functions a lot better than the old setup. SkyBar seems to be coming along very nicely as well. I love how there is less furniture/obstacles on the main level. On busy nights these abundance of booths etc really got in the way and made for less room overall.

It was nice meeting you last night. Thank you so much for letting me use your cell phone to text my friend. You saved the morning! For some reason my cell was able to receive texts but couldn't send out anything. It was truly vexing. You weren't alone with the cell troubles, Sasha. It's amazing how hard it is to meet up with people at these events without a cell. It's pretty much essential for events this large.

Maybe all the red in the Orange Room threw you for a loop, lol

I love roaming around at like 3am and seeing every room on fire, nowhere else in the world like it.
Last night this was the case until about 5AM! All the rooms still going really strong. It was absolutely mental. We are sooo lucky to have The Guv and their infamous all access parties in our own backyard.

pps. did anyone walk through the organge room? the d&b was
I spent enough time in there to shoot a video of Chase & Status and that was it. Just wasn't in much a dnb mood last night :(

Don't let this one ruin it for you. I think everybody on here would agree that not all access parties are as crazy busy as Freedom. Hell, even Labour of Love was significantly less busy.

I'm never going to the Guv without ear plugs again. I am sooo thankful that I tracked down a security guard who was kind enough to give me a pair: after that I was able to enjoy myself MUCH more!
Smart man! I never go anywhere without my ER-20s now. Hooray for slowing down hearing loss!

Finally, a review after uploading all of the pics and videos ;-)
I think everyone has already mentioned everything I wanted to say, but I just wanted to thank everyone who came out with me last night and contributed to all of the fun once again;)
Tara, Mikey, Sagar, Pete, Sasha, Barb and friends (can't remember all names), AJ, Vince, Jeff, Peter, Theresa, Bojana, Jay, Justin, Stefan, Sarah, Cribby, Knox, Geoff, Matt, Smuncky, En limbo, Vertigo, I hope I didn't leave anyone else out, sorry if I did - so great to see all of you, and I am finally starting to recognize more and more Tas in person.
I wasn't going to make it to Freedom, since I hate the Guv, but I am so glad I did because it was tons of fun, and I finally could experience all access event, and I loved it! I don't think I will become a regular, but will try to make it out for major events. Anyway, here is the night captured on video:
After leaving Barb's place, ( Happy Birthday again!), we took a walk to the guvernment:
We made it to the guv and came to Skybar to have a smoke, this is my fav video of the night:
Even though I realized that hate trance, I wanted to check out PVD and take a vid for a friend who couldn't make it, so here is one of him:
And, the last one from the Drink of Felix Da Housecat:
My fav DJ of the night was definitely Erick Morillo, I have never seen him live, but he was sooooooooooooooo ing good...just perfect. My battery died by the end of the night, so I couldn't take a video of him.
Once again, what an amazing night! I am really looking foward to seeing everyone on my Birthday at Beats Ahoy and having tons of fun with friends and TAs!
