You're the one going all apples and oranges here, m8 - not me. I'm just going to drop this now because it's clear you and Theresa just aren't ever going to get it - no matter how clearly it's laid out for you.

I'm not trying to justify anything at this point, it looks like you're trying awful hard too (and failing even harder).

:)

Edit: And here's one last pro-tip for you - when you're providing context for an assertion, that's called a justification, justifications have to be reasoned and are generally rooted in fact, and not statements like "Our boys have got a tough rep!"

Then again, I've already explained this all til my internet face is blue, and neither you nor Theresa really care to see it. Oh well, yet again, not my problem.

I had nothing to do with this argument... thankyouverymuch :p

Kthxbye.

I'm amazed that we're at 17 pages and you still haven't managed to answer my question.

Okay, you got me. You're clearly much smarter than I, and know a lot more about the nuances of the English language...

Also, for the last time, the whole 'tough rep' thing IS fact, which is beside the point.

I'll revise my first post below, and see if you can answer that without starting a semantic arguement.

"What's the deal with Americans wearing Canadian flags while on vacation abroad? Do any American TA's find it offensive that people conceal or misrepresent thier nationality? I find it offensive that they assume the identity of Canadians, when they do not generally emody Canadian values."

...jesus :wtf:

PS...Canadian show = Canaidan Helens = Yes they do.

Americans, don't think that the rest of the world hates you because of your foreign policy, because that's only part of it.

As several people have already mentioned...Americans are loud, crude, obnoxious, arrogant, insular and downright belligerent in many cases, though that doesn't mean you're not nice people or unworthy of friendship.

So does this mean all Europeans are pigheaded racists? Replace "Americans" with "Blacks" and you'll see the issue I have with this.

I'm not "stereotyping". All of you, as a nation, have standards and values that are, on the whole, found lacking by the citizens of other countries around the world. I'm not talking about morals or ethics here obviously, but the points I mentioned above, like sensitivity, subtlety, humility, humour, grace, manners and many others.

Well that is complete, and utter bull. And if you fail to realise how absolutely ing stupid the bolded part is, you really are as thick as verndogs said you are.

The reason I can't articulate my posts better is because it's impossible to explain to someone who has lived in America their whole life the way they are different to the rest of the world - it's something you have to experience from the outside; you can't be told.

It has all to do with that, given that I lived in France for two and a half years, and my Japanese grandmother makes me 1/4 Japanese.

The deal is that some simpleminded Europeans (and people from other parts of the world as well) can't distinguish between the US government and the average US citizen so instead of taking for being American from some ignorant, rude, eurotrash they just say they are Canadian to avoid the situation all together. The most amusing part is that quite often those same people hating on Americans are from a country that we, at some point, had to liberate from a foreign invader.
Alex
Eyeroll.

Now how is calling them "ing euro trash" going to make them nicer to tourists exactly? It would be like europeans visiting the USA and calling everyone redneck retards.

Also, lol@mycountrysaveyoars. It's not good to FORGET the sacrifices of WWI and WWII but WWII ended 60+ years ago.

Do you honestly expect the world to only remember the good the USA has done and forget about the bad (as RJT put it, the last 10 years or so)?. Come on, you don't get to demand respect for a good deed that you personally had NOTHING to do with.

Also, why not take it one step further? Maybe you should be super nice to everyone from the UK for even creating your country? :p Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaseeeeeeee.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not questioning the intelligence of any of you Americans.

I think you're a very intelligent bunch of people; it's your social graces I'm complaining about.

Bull...you just hate America. I've read plenty of threads where the subject of America or Americans was brought up, and you'd always be the first one there making some disparaging or hateful comment regarding America or Americans.

i don't know why it hasn't been closed yet. A type of thread like this will never end.... things are getting repeated over and over.

I can give 3 fuks if ppl wanna judge me by my goverment just because I happen to live in a place that is relatively warm all year long. Fuk it. Fuk u.. I love it. You aren't worth my time.
