Then why still pick apart a few historical references, added strictly for context, instead of addressing the actual subject - which is Americans who pretend to be Canadian while abroad?

Do you, or do you not, find it offensive that people hide thier nationality and actually go so far as to pretend to be Canadians?

That is all.

I do find it offensive - to both my country and yours - and I don't like it. I would like it to stop.

Discuss.

Or, we could talk about how old and crusty jennypie is getting lately...

Canada brought us TA. That's a global contribution.

Ever since I started traveling to Canada I felt more Canadian than American. When people ask me where I'm from when I'm traveling I now say I'm an immigrant living in Toronto, or just Toronto.

Not really.

I do think it's quite sad that some Americans who travel abroad just chicken out, but it's honestly something that's too trivial to get worked up about. Frankly, you should be flattered with this news because it makes Canada look good. ;)

Only reason it even came up was because you brought it into the conversation as justification. You bring it up, it's fair game - just like in court.

Don't you watch any Law & Order?

wow, honestly... reading RJT's responses in this thread has really lowered my opinion of him.

3 PAGES AND NOT ONE MENTION OF THE KIDS IN THE HALL? that is unacceptable!
