| Jordan Im not even going to bother continuing this bull internet spat. Lets just enjoy the music and stop attacking each other. Im ing over it. Good to see some other ppl are posting some constructive stuff bout music and politics etc. I dont have the energy to bother with explaining to you how long Ive been going to events. Dont need to justify myself to you. To everyone else hope u enjoy the nite. And for the record,Im not getting paid aside from free entry. I promote (and have done for 5 yrs) coz I love trance, the Melb EDM scene, meeting new ppl and seeing in wicked djs. No ulterior motive,just good old fashioned enthusiasm for what I love doing. |

ahhh good to see the fight in trance still alive and well. ;P
I used to go out for the music and not know the tracks or who the DJ was. In fact I just found out the name of a song the other day and it was made about 8 yrs ago!
Christopher Lawrence really switched me onto the scene in a bigger way all those years ago in The Godds Shed.

| Im with Dr P. Ur exactly right,when I went out it was purely bout the music and not knowing all the djs and track names. My crew werent into sitting online and downloading music and getting music knowledge. We did it the old school way by word of mouth or from Beat and Inpress. Plus unless the music is vocal trance its hard to work out track names by ear. These days its diff,to be a trance afficionado u need to know everything bout remixes and djs etc it never used to be like that. Anyhow trance ftw I say! |

Looking at it way to deep. Its simple. Future prmote dance music, trance has shown a sharp rise in popularity. Future get on board with a weekly trance night in club that is awesome. If successful it will stay, if it os not it will go and future will move on.
There intentions are to make money and the only way that is going to happen is if they provide quality nights that gets return business

i'm pretty sure time is relative- one month of me going out sober, would surely give me far more experience than you going out for a year, getting so wasted each time that you can't even remember the event....
it's nice that you've been doing it so long, i guess i wouldn't even be able to ever understand the complexity of how much putting flyers in shops, and promo-whoring on forums REALLY gives you musical knowledge...
and last time i checked free tickets IS payment... :conf:
i'm just offering my opinion, the same as you are doing: that the event won't be the best thing since sliced bread... there are already lots of local events that are pretty much the same (but at different venues)... why havn't they kicked off in a big way?? if trance was popular cause it's trance then you wouldn't need to sell it: infinity's only gonna sell cause it's the new band-wagon that future's trying to puyt everybody on. Infinity's just as likely to kill the scene as to make it better. |
