Zone rocked tho :)

I like dnb too, but it's a waste to have it in a room that size.
Ok no - you see, junglists generally like to actually dance as opposed to just tapping their feet, waving their hands, and/or sketching it out in front of the DJ booth. You don't want it to be jam-packed for those events (not that they aren't anyway sometimes), and although I unfortunately missed the D'n'B at this party, I've been to plenty of other ones in the KH and I've never had cause to complain, nor have I heard anyone else complain about the room being too big or the crowd being too small.
P.S. What happened to T-Power? Why wasn't he on the set times? I really wanted to catch the duo as I've already seen Shy FX by himself... that was one of the main reasons I didn't bother making time for the Koolhaus.

I got a copy of his CD and thanks to Mikey for getting it signed (and my other Lawler autograph) :D :D However I was meant to leave at that time... fate was on my side. As we were leaving Skybar I stopped for a second in the doorway to wait for friends to catch up, all of a sudden Im told to move and its LAWLER BEHIND ME!!!!!!! I was speechless, so mad thanks to Mikey who snapped me back to reality, I got a picture with him, a smooch on the cheek and exchanged a few words. I was in heaven... Im still in heaven :D:D:D:D
Ohhh yeah, and after the boat I am now a Fanciulli fan :)
:gsmile:
"Tara, you might wanna get up for a second, Lawler is coming and I think you want a photo with him"
So my review:
Got to Guv earlyish because of news Fanciulli was on at 11:30, thanks to Legendary Waz !!! Around 11:30-11:45 MO was still on and we saw brief appearances by Nic every now and then. I remember joking with a firend: "wtf is this, an MO-Fanciulli Back to Back?" cause whenever we thought Fanciulli was ON, he stepped away and MO came on.
finally, Fanciulli did come on and I was dancing pretty hard front and center, but then I thought im gonna go into the centre of the floor so I can actually see him. Danced there for a bit, despite being more confined for space. He played very well and IMO it was the fitting music for the venue, i couldn't have been more pleased.
I then went up to the skybar to catch an hour of laidback luke, the fireworks, my friends, the music, my timing, it was all just perfect right there. it was wonderful, im still awestruck.
Luke had a great vibe and energy to his set, while there were some things i didn't like, it was a very FUN set and that's what counts.
When Lawler came on, this was the moment we were all excited for, i enjoyed his set, and wish I couldve danced harder to show that. Although im sure i could have found space to dance as i wanted to, more importantly, I was there for a good time with my friends, unfortuneately i didnt have a good time...I HAD A BLAST OF A TIME.
it's something special when you see how much your friends like a certain DJ. some of my friends saw it last weekend at Max Graham for me, and i'm glad I got to see how much Intangible loves Lawler, as if her shirt didnt prove it enough already. What a Die Hard Fan !!
Also, Congrats go out to Cuzo for making it on the insert of VIVA toronto. Im sure he was happy to get it signed by lawler :)
and yeah, they were doves.

well finally just got back from toronto.. lol what a week it has been. ill make this my overall review of the weekend starting quickly with mind control @ solarium
- great party. not as busy as it should have been, prob due to all the events going on. sound could have been louder but islanders prevent that.
on to guv
I was pumped for this event with the line up. had some chinese food for dinner and 20 min later, my top lip puffed up huge. i took 2 anti-hystemines and the lip shrunk a bit but was still puffy at guv which you can tell from the pics. to add to that, they weren't non-drowsy so by the time i got to guv i was extremely tired. headed up to skybar and had a beer. 20 min later i was getting loopy. the mix of alcohol and the medicine made me feel dizzy and super drunk at times. so decided it would be best not to drink anymore so drank water to flush out my system.
personally, i didnt like laidback but that could be because i wasnt feeling the best. his flow i didnt find too great. headed down to catch some fanciulli, by the time i got there he was playing some hard stuff. nice rolling basslines but i decided to go to skybar to find everyone and have a few drinks since last call was coming up and i was feeling better. stayed for a bit then soon headed down for lawler where it was packeeeeeeeeeddd. decided to head up to my friends booth on main stage and was much better. more room and could see the desctruction that was happening.
i found lawlers set to be much better than last years and it was everything that i had expected for main room. rocked out and prepareed for dubfire. i haven't seen dubfire solo so i was looking forward to seeing what he would do. once again, was not disappointed. some nice dark tunage that i would expect. only regret is not hearing grindhouse in the mainroom. oh well. that was due to getting up to skybar asap. lawlers skybar set much better than last years. as said earlier, not as sketchy. my friend who had the booth in the main room also had the booth to the right so once again had room to jam. however, as time passed and skybar got more full, people started pushing themselves in and it got packed. attempted to get a bouncer to kick those out but at this point they didn't really care. sucked for the music cutting out, kinda was a buzz kill. oh well. dub was hilarious making faces and stuff. tunes obviously weren't as dark but still enjoyed it.
lawler announcing them going to zone was good and bad. great that they arent just playing a gig and then running off and bad that announcing it just brings unnecessary heat to zone.
after recouping a bit and trying to figure out what to do until tryst and reign, decided to check out zone for a bit. didnt see lawler there but squillace was destroying it. dubfire was in the booth looking like he was having a ball, playing with the effects here and there. his set was unbelievable... i think one of the best sets ive ever heard there. id say it would be like roaches at their a game x 3. ya... that good.
after that headed to tryst for the party. interesting venue, it was freaking hot under the glass roof. tunes were great but bouncers sucked, kept turning down the music. after that headed to reign where it was equally fun. everyone was sloppy. it seemed like everyone wanted to finish off the weekend strong haha. anyways nice to be home and comfortable to recharge.
edit: funny moment on skybar. Guido attempting to pick up my hot Lithuanian friend. they all say the same stuff, try to pull the same moves, touch and attempt to kiss the same, lol... and he was wearing tight white pants and a purple tank.. lol
