I couldn't get into anyones set was moving around too much last night but I think Laidback Luke wasnt that bad and Lawler in the beginning at Skybar was pretty good |

Yes, I know I was tired and jetlagged, but honestly, 75% of the songs Lawler played from 5am-7am on the Skybar, he played in the main room. Doesn't he have any more records?
Weak. |
recycled lol
and his set was almost identical to his Space opening set from Ibiza, atleast change the sequence of the tracks ffs
weak indeed
p.s Nic Fanciulli imo takes the cake for spinning the best music last night this guy was on fire, quite possibly his best set at Guv!!! |

What an awesome night!
I don't think there is anything I can really complain about ,except for the Skybar crowd, but that was expected to so nothing you can do about that!
Thought all of the DJs were amazing last night!
Fanciulli was great as always, Laidback Luke delivered and the fireworks during his set made it for a perfect set :D (WOOHOO TARA!!!) and of course the Lawler/Dubfire sunrise set was something to be seen!
Definitely one of my favourite parties of 2008 (so far and from what I can remember!!)
Time to go back to the pool!

This was a really fun night out - mostly because company of great friends (IMO the party music/flow was average).
Main room was not over-crowded - there was lots of room and minimal pushing & shoving. Fanciulli did a great job and really surprised me with bumping party tunes (I expected him to play an abstract set, but he didn't). He played a great mid-party set and the crowd loved it.
Lawler's main room performance was good - probably the best of the night. His set had good structure and progression and the crowd was really into what he was doing. Steve always amazes me with how he can control a room and this main room set showed exactly that.
I got up to Skybar around 4:30 (after waiting 15 minutes in line as they were already controlling access). Unfortunately I didn't catch any of Dubfire's main room set as I wasn't going to go back down and risk waiting in an even longer line up.
Lee Osborne played a really druggy chuggy set on Skybar - I definitely noticed when he started. In retrospect I really respect what Lee did - his tunes grabbed my attention/focus more than any other DJ (both inside and out). Lee has himself a new fan.
Lawler's Skybar set started off strong but as it went on I got the impression that he wasn't focused as he was in the main room. The tunes felt more disjoint and track selection seemed to lack direction at times. That said, being early morning, I appreciated that he didn't hammer it out. The set was the perfect tempo for a a warm summer Canada Day sunrise. Dubfire's Skybar set fit in well with the tone that Lawler had already established - Ali did a great job keeping the party going.
General Observation: Overall the music/flow/atmosphere of the party felt tempered, almost muted. There was never a sustained period of "party-peak" - just short bouts of intensity with long drawn out plateaus in-between.
Nice to see everybody! It's always a treat to have so many friends in one spot at one time!
WE WIN! |

i liked it - i had a great time! it was a beautiful morning, the weather was great and i'm really glad i went. then again, i didn't hear lawler inside, so all those tracks were new to me for the night. seeing that i really only came for the skybar set, i don't know why i didn't just show up around 3, but i was worried about getting in if i showed up late. spent most of fanciulli's set talking outside, and went up to the skybar shortly after lawler came on because i just can't stand being in that main room.
this is my once yearly trip to the guvernment --- the only event i will go to there. although it's rammed, people are not pushy, everyone's in a great mood and i've never been disappointed. plus, it's wonderful to be outside. i have to admit, i was a little afraid that tiesto would take to the decks though. :p
and whoever does wardrobe for the dancers really needs to come up with some better ideas. those costumes were appalling. so cheesy! |

Looking at the chinamon's pictures - how the hell did I miss bumping into so many people!?!? I didn't even see some of these people.

got there early and sold my tiesto tix,,, i didn't profit too much but it covered the parking. I went all around to show a friend guv for the first time. We pretty much went straight to skybar where the roaches were doing a very fine good job.. Then Dekoze ripped it up for a bit we later went to go check out the other rooms. Tried getting into the D&B kinda swayed around ...then i showed my friend the acid lounge where the A/C was working great!!! Nic was great and i did lots of dancing in the mainroom and after that my focus was getting to skybar before it would get too packed.. The vibe in skybar was great....
LAIDBACK LOOK FTW !!! this guy impressed me more then anyone!!
nobody was pushy.. people where polite.. and we all danced our asses off
:happy2::happy2::happy2::happy2::happy2::happy2::happy2::happy2::happy2::happy2:
unfortunately my legs gave out and my heels felt constant pain. left before it got real sunny. (we noticed nobody could get back up around 6 am) |

Had an amazing time!
Nic Fanciulli - never seen him before and was completely blown away! I wish I could've went on the boat now! lol
Lawler (main room) - not the greatest, but wasn't awful either
Dubfire (main room) - wasn't really doing it for me
DJ Hype - I definitely think I've over my dnb kick. Also.. it was way too loud in there
Joee Cons - Spot on as always
Lawler/Dubfire (SkyBar) - Absolutely amazing. Everything I expected and more!! Can't wait for the next one! Oh yeah.. and did Lawler up 2 or 3 times. I know Dubfire ed up once as well. Talk about a vibe killer.. everyone booed, lol.
Got to Zone at around 1030ish (I think) and Dubfire was dominating! I don't know if we missed Lawler or if it was just Dubfire that showed. Either way, soo glad I went to Zone! |
