Amazing night!
Got there just after midnigh, and went straight to SkyBar. Heard some of Deko-ze's set and didn't think much of it.
Heard Laidback Luke for the first time, and I really didn't like what he played. He's a good dj, but his track selection and style is just not my thing. But I must say, he definitely got the crowd moving, so props for that.
Lawler came on and I was in heaven. I found his set to be a little better than last years. He was having a good time! :) I LOL'd when I saw him wearing the flag as a skirt for a while. He also gave me his new cd, and I was so greatful for that!!!
Dubfire came and this was it. Perfection. Two of my favourites, together! I'm speechless. Didn't want it to come to an end :(
and for the record, I wasn't up there when Tiesto was....came down when he came, had no interest of being around him.
Overall 10/10

I saw you as I left.. you looked very sad. (around 6am). i guess it was cause Tiesto was there ahahahhaha.. i never saw the guy, just a bunch of lookalikes.

and the system on the skybar is still a piece of ....doesnt matter thou it got the cword going when the sound was cutting out...
Dubfire placed his headphones on the mixer and must have slide a fader down orr something, his reaction was priceless.....
yea i dont know if they gave each other respect (tiesto n lawler) but when tiesto was on the stage lawler seemed to ignor him and tried alot harder to be into the mixing and what not.....
on to the tuneage i hered a bit Laidback Luke and i wasnt vibing with the 30mins i hered so i bounced out.....
I hered an hour or so of Nic Fanchalli and he played sum proper .....
Steve Lawler inside - didnt play big room house as i expected him too play....he played those tracks on skybar and it fitted alot better.....7/10....he could do alot better
Dubfire inside - only hered 30mins and was decent, i knew he was going to pick up large latter on....but we had to get up to skybar b4 it got rammed....
Steve Lawler Sunrise set-AWESOME 10x better then last year...21st Century Ketchup....last year he was more sketcy so he played sketcy....this year he was pumped and had to promote....which why he kept holding up his headphones when u can tell he felt stupid for doing it.....10/10
Steve Lawler vs Dubfire - I thought they were going to switch it up and play sum heavy ....they didnt and it wasnt called for it.....by 7am to 9am everyone was died and dancing all zombie like....but we were loving the tunes and didnt want to levea.....9/10
I dont like how steve wont play any older banging tracks, he only plays new , which is good, but it doesnt hered to have a couple does into ur set for flavor.....thats my 2cents....
I wish i went to comfort zone....oh well....
Great music, great friends, great club.....10/10
Labour of Love better be killer this year if they want to continue to be Guvs main party...... |

Worst part of the night.. driving on the DVP and realizing I forgot my earplugs. Kool Haus hurt my eaarrrs!!
speaking of KH.. why do they continue to put dnb in there? The last two times they've done that it hasn't been more than half full at any point in time.

this night was terrific all round.
lawler more than made up for some recent sets. he was brilliant. I'd like to see dubfire play longer and on his own in the mainroom..didn't really get a chance to judge his set down there. He was excellent on the skybar but seemed to be just complementing lawler.
the two of them at zone... and AGAIN!!! thats what i think about that.
star of the weekend was mr fanciulli though. superb!!!!! on the boat..holy ...how wicked was that. |

from what I heard it was only dubfire that played @ the zone (for an hour or so), I dont think Lawler showed up there at all.
Overall the night was fun, but out of all of the Sunrise sets ive gone too I think I disliked this one the most (musically).
The main room was a total writeoff for me. Got there @ 2am and lasted about an hour in there. ewwwww what a mess. I dont even want to think about what that place is like on a regular saturday. And the music was kinda zzzz in there too (Lawler was playing).
Got up to Skybar where the music was better, toughed it out and stayed until it closed but again it was not on the same level as previous years for me. I'll also echo Grahams sentiments, I think Lawler recycled way too many tracks yesterday morning. I heard 21st century ketchup at least 3 times, one of them was a remix but still. My friend told me he played it twice downstairs too which would make it 4 times wtf lol. :rolleyes:
Anyways I had soooooo much more fun on Beats Ahoy. Better music / crowd / setting / everything I can think of. :p |

Were you at Zone or are you pissed cause you missed it? If you were there.. what time did Lawler play?
