Weird. I'd ask if you're using LP or not but I highly doubt that would make a difference. I'm puzzled beyond belief. |

I rewatched my laidback luke skybar vid and it looks comparable.. maybe it's just the inside ones with lasers that get all compressed because it features too much changing colours :s
now we can move on |

Lisa, I don't know what to tell you. As far as I know I haven't really played around with the video/audio settings at all. I've always been able to capture great sound on the default settings.
I use the Powershot SD750 btw.

Strange. I used to have the 300, now use the 800 and my dad has the 850 and I haven't seemed to be able to capture sound good. I guess you're at the back of the bar...so it's not as loud? I dunno.....when I took video at Ferry near the back, I had the same problem. The bass just dominates and ruins the video.

I'm surprised the 850 is that poor with sound. I can stand in front of the speakers in guv main room with my 870 and it's clear as a bell when I watch them later |

| I hear if you take a piece of hockey tape, or some sort of foam you can tape/glue it to the microphone section of the camera and it's supposed to filter the sound... never tried yet... |

I seriously am retarded and cannot find the mic on the 800. Next time I see you I'll show you. The 850 I can find easily, but I can't find it. Turns out the part I was covering up with my finger on the 800 was just the speaker! |
