I've encountered a number of people who are wary of dating someone who has had "too many" partners -- what constitutes "too many" can vary depending on age and the person doing the judging...
What do you think? |

I tend to agree; it seems like the notion of too much experience is a cover for fear -- either that you won't measure up to previous partners, or maybe simply fear of STDs. |

It's not really about experience.
The numbers only matter to me in the sense that I want a partner with the same values and relationship goals as me. So if they've been with more than a dozen (and that's a high number, imo), I probably wouldn't want anything to do with them. |

I honestly don't hold past sexual experiences against anyone. I don't think it's fair, it's in the past. End of story. But I do require an STD test to be done. |

well..if you are using a condom and being smart about it it shouldn't matter. STD tests exist for a reason.

These are people who are young / immature / insecure, and it's usually a combination of the three.
I have no idea how many guys my girlfriend has been with, she has no idea how many women I've been with, and there's no reason either one of us needs to know. |

I don't. I don't even want to know! Whatever you did before me, you did before me. It's none of my business, just like it's none of his business who I have or haven't slept with. We don't discuss that stuff, nor do we EVER discuss past relationships (I don't even know how many gf's he's had - don't care). I think that's why we've never gotten in one fight since we started dating (almost a year ago). |
