lol...yea. Chinese people can have weird taste in music and dancing sometimes. I was in Shanghai last year and went to a club...saw many Chinese doing a Billie Jean moonwalk to Eminem...it was interesting to see cos they did seem to have a lot of fun... |

Chinese Gymnasts: :eyes: For ONCE I was cheering for a country other than my own. It was so nice to see them win (and of course to see the US underdogs pull outta their ass for the bronze....impressive!) IMO I wish the US had more difficulty in their routines, because the japanese were f*ckin up all day and still got the silver over the US who stuck 95% of their routines. booo to start values!! lol |

I couldn't believe the Japanese got silver after all those f*ckups! Just because the Japanese threw in a bunch of fancy tricks that they ed up on they got higher than the US. Our boys still did good though :)
Although they serve their purpose sometimes those start values call for some unfair wins. What do you people think? Should they have everyone at the same skill level for the gymnastics competition vs this start value business? |

Day 4 and still no medals. Not that I'm watching much of it, but Canadian athletes are stinking it up once again in the Summer Games! haha wow our summer olympians suck compared to the rest of the world.
Funding (or lack thereof) is a big problem, but not the only reason. I actually prefer the Winter Games personally. |

If they want more funding they better not look to the government to hand out more money.
Personally, I say forget having any government funding and give me some of my tax dollars back....if they want funding look to the private sector to get it....heck we can make the Olympics one big advertisement and have Team Home Depot, Team Visa, Team Coca Cola, etc compete against each other for medals. |

I read somewhere that most government sports funding is (naturally) going to Vancouver at the moment so obviously Beijing results are suffering. I could be wrong, but it makes sense.
Maybe we won't win a medal? I can see us not winning a Gold quite easily actually, but we'll see. |

The kayaker for TOGO isn't even from TOGO....he is french but was too old to make the french team and since his dad was from Togo he gets to represent them....they even said he has been to Togo once in his life.
The ideals of the Olympics is a joke....it has nothing to do with representing your country or the spirit of competition. |

we haven't gotten to our sport yet..lol
Rowing! We should hopefully get a few medals from the finals there...hopefully, unless there is a huge upset, like there was in Athens, in the 8 men rowing which we are favoured to win...again!
PS. We came in 4th in the Women's 63kg! SO CLOSE!

I came in here to say that I'm so disappointed with this whole anthem lip synching girl. The poor girl with the nice voice got milli vanilli'd because her teeth were crooked. So sad. |
