depends on if the relationship is casual (then different musical tastes may be an issue), or if it's serious (shouldn't be an issue).

'Gotta love quoting oneself, narcissism rules :tongue3

of course, a reversal of the above can hold true as well. Different tastes can be an issue in a serious relationship and a non-issue in a casual one too. Either way, much of it depends on how immersed you/she/he are into your respective scenes. Personally, I've had to step back from TA/EDM a bit (because of the differences) in the past year but that's probably a good thing.

wow, if your that co-dependent on each other that you guys cant even go to different rooms of the same club - then you have issues.

In terms of feeling well: Yes, that is something I'll deal with, because you know - it's my partner, and they are feeling sick - and it'd be an thing to do to send them home sick so you can keep on partying.

That said, if someone wants to leave earlier than the other person - give them a hug & kiss goodnight, and be on your way. Now and then this can lead to an awkward moment here and there, but there's been more than once where my partner has left before me, or I've left before my partner. Really, its no big deal.

Also, paying for everything - umm, maybe in the first stages of courtship, or if it's something that you really want to do - but they were not as interested in. But after any significant period of time of dating - the other person really should start paying their own way IMO.

If you have any sense of independence, 90% of what you went off about is really a non-issue.

lol. that's what i was thinking.

that's why it sounded weird to me.

if your partner is sick at the club, you better be ready to leave and not make them feel like a loser about it. if fact, i have left clubs for friends not just partners. there will always be another party.

i love having someone to hang out with at the club. it's so strange going alone (even with friends, it's not the same) but on the other hand I am ok exploring on my own and can take of myself and that i know my partner doesn't need to worry about "taking care of me".

This, 99.9% are cracked-out harlots

The remaining 0.1% is good.

Depends how important music style is in your life. Some people won't date someone of a different religion, or ethnic background etc.

For me music is very important.. If you're a hip hopper see ya laterrr no hard feelings :p

yeah, I'd say it all depends on how serious you take whatever "scene" you're involved in.

although the topic question has crossed my mind...I can never imagine being like some of you in this thread: exclusive to "one scene" to a point where it dictates your social life entirely.

to each his/her own though.

I could care less what my gf listens to - I probably listen to hip-hop just as much, if not more than EDM...followed closely by rock music.

I have more important things in life to focus on than the music "scene" I belong to. But like I said: to each his/her own...

Although, while I know there are exceptions, blah, blah, blah - I find that the type of music a person into, can also say quite a bit about their personality. Especially if they are really INTO the music, and the life-style around it.

Hit the nail on the head for me. This is exactly how I feel.

But sadly...

Quite simply, dating someone in "the scene" is preferable for me, but most of the girls I meet at clubs are just not dating material.

LOL!
it's true, i think about music all day, that's why this thread came to mind in the first place. Can't imagine putting it all away just because of some girl..I've talked to her though and some suggestions in this thread really helped
she asked me to come to some bull top40 event in Burlington (ing barf) in return she will come out with me wherever next time.
Sounds reasonable :D
