do you think its much better in other western countries? not that the us is the perfect sample group for the world but all in all i don't see the numbers varying that much in other western countries.

Why, of course! If they knew they were being cheated on, I don't think they'd remain in the relationship :p

Hold on a sec. USA data is not a broad figure. It's actually the opposite. It's specific. If you took into account 50 nations from all around the world, that would be a broad figure.

Those stats coming from the US don't surprise me either.

ok ok, well in the world of research and clinicians, that is not broad to ME, how about that? hehe I have been in school for far too long I think. lol we are used to breaking things wayyy down for the specifics.

Also, I meant to say in that figure: "people whom are currently in a relationship were cheating has occurred at least once since it began."

Saying it in the previous post would lead you to believe that 45% of guys are CURRENTLY cheating on their partners as we speak, but I did not mean it that way. Correction made ;)

ps: canadian figures are not far off, and european figures are even worse, especially eastern european countries. eeekk!

not true at all my friend. You would be surprised the people in denial, those who turn the other cheek, stay with people for whatever reason, etc.....You have to enter my world to see the VAST differences in peoples relationships. People are very hush hush about anything that may seem out of the ordinary, and thus we dont hear about it much, when in fact our neighbors, uncles, gramma's, etc may be doing something you would not expect.

Not really no :p
bananas
Dunno, I think it can be explained sometimes.
And I don't agree that if I've cheated once I'll definitely cheat again, that's nonsense.

Well, I can believe that happens, as I know stories like that from real life - but are you really gonna tell me that's the vast majority? :conf:

It depends on the person, because to some, its just the visualization of it all. They know their partner loves them, wants to be with them, etc...but would also love to visualize the fantasy of watching their partner with someone else. Its different to watch people as compared to being IN the action. Different views, different visions, etc...

Clearly this does NOT work for jealous types. hehe I have friends who are swingers and its their biggest joy. BUT they do everything sexually, together, and would never (and have never) "cheated." (in quotes bc many of you may still consider that cheating). They do not have sexual relations with people on their own, ever. It is simply a fantasy for them.

no no I didnt say "vast majority" I said "vast differences." What I am saying, is that you would be surprised how many people out there, whom WE think are holding "regular, typical relationships" are in fact, not. not a majority, but more than you would think! There are a LOT of cheaters, swingers, sexual freaks, sexual deviants, sexual addicts (not in a good way), sexual predators, etc etc.
