I haven't looked through this entire thread but I'm positive these boots have been posted here somewhere... uggs. I ing hate them. I know every girl has them and says they're really comfortable, but seriously, it's time to move on. They were a "fad" 2 years ago and people are still wearing the same pair stained with salt and dirt and now it just looks dirty and sloppy. If you can afford to spend 200$ on a pair of uggs, buy new boots!!!

You're right. I'm actually convinced that most professors don't care about teaching at all, and only got into the job so they could hear the sound of their own voice. |
I agree. We all know the type...a quick question will get them to digress for 15 minutes about their personal views about whatever the heck people will listen too...
Wait...I just imagined being a prof...and I would do the exact same thing!!! |

You obviously missed my other posts. Of course it isn't an indication of one's intelligence, their contributions to the field, or whatever the else...but you're naive if you think one's appearance isn't sending a message about the kind of person he/she is. |
she's right...sometimes i go to class with my pants undone jsut to look like a jackass...and im treated accordingly |

i LOVE men in skinny jeans. mmmmmmm. ok, let's rephrase, not painted on super tight ones that look like denim leggings, but something more along the lines of a slim, straight leg like this:
same for myself. i HATE boot cut. barf barf barf. love the straight leg!

somebody finally talking some sense. lol. |

While I agree with you on professional school, I don't think that wearing nice jeans and a clean t-shirt = dressing like a slob (if that is actually what you're saying). |
It depends. I trust your jeans and tshirt are on the nicer end of the scale : ) |

Why not get a nice burberry scarf or something instead of these keffiyah things? Looks nicer and classy |
I love scarfs and wear all sorts. I will admit, however, that small silk scarfs are my favourite :) |

I know there's plenty of girls that go to school like that b/c they think they're gonna pick up guys or something, but I do know some girls that dress up just b/c they like to dress up and that's what they feel comfortable in. |
I totally agree with you here, especially the latter point. For all those (angrily) defending their sweats ensembles, what right do you have to bash people that like to look good? How is it any different than your desire to "be comfortable"?

I don't think the attire of my instructors is important whatsoever, BUT I'm biased as a math student at Waterloo, where nobody really gives a about appearances and people's worth is judged by their intelligence and their contributions to the field. |
True. I've had math and engineering profs show up in outfits almost as sloppy as sweats :nervous: Though they were clearly brilliant people, I will admit that the clothes can be a bit of a distraction and influence your opinion of the prof.

Thanks for the tip! H&M is 5 minutes from where I work and I hate it because I can never leave the store without spending any money :P |
