really? Actually this is prob one of their strongest sides they had since the early 80s

their offence and mid are top class, and got a good core for defense...

i still think their going to choke, but WC '10 will be one of their best chance to go far

they are a way better team then a couple of years ago, dinos like Beckham know their roles on the team, and all the "we are the best" attitude has changed and thats because Capello doesnt take ...hes a very good coach

they have something to prove now, they will play hungry...rooney, gerrard and lampard are in great form, they have walcott, rio is good, terry meh....still they have a nice team

they play well

I think even their 2002 side was better, with a younger becks, seaman in nets (at least they had a consistent #1 back then) a young ferdinand, campbell, who else...scholes, both of the coles, and the over rated owen! lol

i think if it wasn't for rooney they would be terribly out of luck in their starting XI....

Naaaaah if you look at England both as a team and as individuals, you can tell that currently they have a much better squad than 2002. Most of their players are in their highest form. This is the best season for S. Gerrard so far. Lamparad had an incredible season, same goes for Rooney and above all look how Capello transformed them to a winning team, he still has some flaws in the Defence. I believe that England will be one of the title contenders and may make it again to the semis. Would be cool if we can see another Brazil-England next year

meh 02 they all thought they were big shots...ya they had alot more INDIVIDUAL stars (and look where it got them)

this year they are a unit, they play wayyyyy better then they did in 02

I think an EXPERIENCED rio, terry, lampard and gerrard, linked with rooney, walcott, ect are a wayyyy better side then 02

they have a good core down the middle of the field with
rio-terry;gerrard-lampard;rooney

the team is built around them, not players like becks on 02

with all the hype they'll end up in the same spot as ukraine :) and that's knocked out early

let's just say we did better than england in WC 2004 :D

until Italy laid us out lol

Go Shakhtar!!!!!!!!!

Man City is like the rich ugly girlfriend that tries to get all the boys with offers of buyign them clothes and taking them on trips, but they still don't wanna hang out with her no matter what she offers.

........trying to buy Messi!

"Representatives from the English club, owned by the Abu Dhabi United Group, offered to buy out the striker's contract for 150 million euros (204 million dollars) and pay him 10 million euros per season over four years, the Marca newspaper said."
http://www.soccerway.com/news/2009/...-from-man-city/

Apparently they tried to get Raul, who also rejected offer, Aguero, Forlan...and now going after David Villa.

I think they should relax...no super star is going to play on this unestablished team with out other superstars...i think they should build a core of some quality players, then in a couple of years the stars will come. They're trying to become a big club overnight. They need to be in a position to play Champions league football before they get attention.

this is one of the best pre-hype CL final in some time....

i really cant choose a winner, it can go either way, thats whats amazing about it

If Messi/E'to have a big game, i can see barca go through

If Man U play their game, and with all the defenders barca is missing, Man U can win

as a neutral im just hoping for a good and exciting game

but i want barca to win! :p

I just hope that Ferdinand plays because if not we will be missing him and Fletcher. I totally agree this is prolly one of the best CL finals in our time if u look at the two side, they are the dominating teams in their leagues and they have the depth and quality to be the best team in the world.

To be honest, if Manchester lose, I will be disappointed but not alot since the other side is a great team too, I would be pissed if it was Liverboo, Madrid or Inter.

i have to say...it was an amazing game
and barca did play a very tight game and deserved to win it.
though i have to say at the beginning of the first half i was
a little worried...manutd was playing a very nice controlled game
...they just lost it after barca's first goal.

well lol good game! and my prediction came true

Man U got it all wrong, from the starting whistle. Their tactic was wrong. They started with Anderson and Park? leaving tevez again on the bench. Nobody man-marked Barca, especially Xavi and Iniesta. Man U thought that Barca would struggle against them like they did against Chelsea (well not struggle, just frustrated). Pep this time saw it right away (first 8-10 min) that they had to adapt to a new way of playing, and shifted Messi to a more attacking mid role, playing a diamond in the midfeild. Fergy needs better eye wear because he didn't do to try and swing a new tactic, guy is a good coach for talent, not for tactics.

Only person for Man U that was actually playing with heart was Rooney, who consently had to run up and down the left to help out with the mid (great great stop on Messi). CR7 didnt incorporate any of his team mates into the game and the team looked lost. Man U is not a sound team, what I mean is that a real Champion even getting a goal scored on must keep their head, clearly they didn't. They fell apart, lost their first touch and everything inbetween

Haven't seen Man U dominated like that for quite some time, even when they tied or something, they were always in control

Barca's important players played their role well. Xavi and Iniesta commanded the field, Yaya played excellent in an orthodox CB position, eto who seemed like a ghost last round scored a very important goal and messi even tho it wasnt his best game played well.

Came down to balls...Fergie wants to play with his dinos (putting Scholes in, who didnt do anything this whole yr) instead of putting the likes of Nani (Pep started an 18-19 yr old in DM, goes to show you)

Really thought Man U would at least put up a fight, but after the first 10 min, it was Barca just overwhealming them (there were times that Man U didn't touch the ball for 8 min straight)

The best team of the whole year won, glad Barca collected their 3rd CL trophy. And a big congrats to Pep, who in his debut year, and with no expereince coaching in any top league won the treble. Big respect for him
