ironic WEnger saying that...do Gunners even have any ENglishmen int he starting XI? lol
but he's right...but face it, this is what the entire world is coming to...globalization. Domestic ownership is gonna be a think of the past.... |

funny, it hasnt happend in Spain or Italy....last time i checked globalization reached there also :D because if that happend the people will hang the board members and throw tomatos at them, soccer is life there, not a sport
the Sensi family (owners of AS Roma) had a lurcartive offer from some oil tycoon and rejected the bid, and the team is not doing very well financially |

give credit where credit is due
EPL as done one thing right, maybe the only thing, commercializing the game there.
Re-designing their staduims to be more fan/family friendly and the elimination of hooligans (with the help of government) has worked very well, and the principal reasons why the game grew in popularity |

hahah didint even notice
EDIT: tycoon
we get earthquakes there....
ya ultras are everywhere, and needed in some parts of the world. But you cant deny the fact that the EPL has turned out to be more of a family fanbase, you see many many children at games, games like Man u v liverpool....
which is good
I would never bring a child to a game like inter-milan or juve-inter....kid would get fireworks straight to his eyes, objects like bats thrown from across the staduim and firecrackers to the head...ask Dida lol |

yea the ultra's are still doing it big all over europe. as 84th said it used to be pretty hardcore in england but the government decided to crack down on it. italy has hardcore ultras as well. lazio and roma ultra's are practically facist. no wonder why no one comes out to watch serie A matches, no one wants to sit beside these goons. |

Lazio is known for its facist, roma's isn't. The ultras have their own area, only juve's attendence is bad, all of seria a is decent. That is why juve is building a new stadium, a la english style, the stadio olimpico was designed bad for normal games.
in south america, mostly in argentina, ultra's actually own the team. The president of some clubs are die hard ultras and they hold the majority of seats on commision boards |
