not the same thing. Accidents do not happen on purpose. These people, if you can call them that, intentionally disrupted lives of others. I hope that they never ever get what they want. |

The first one is not illegal, 2nd one will be illegal soon and the third is illegal just like the protest on the highway. |

It's accidental that you didn't leave enough time for traffic in driving to the airport for such an important flight.

No I get what you are saying, but that's not planned.
Those are Events that all occur unplanned. (with the exception of reckless driving and drinking and driving)
The protest was planned and they purposely disturbed people's lives. |

my husband ( that sounds weird) came home last night spewing the same that i see on this board..so i basically told him this..
obviously these people are protesting because they feel a sense of desperation. Maybe they have family or friends that are dead or in danger of being hurt. Maybe they are so desperate and afraid that they have acted out in their desperation..was it a smart move..no..pretty idiotic..but they obviously have motives that stem from something far more deep seeded than our trivial need to have a traffic jam free day..when he started spewing more hate..i told him to shut the up cuz in reality, what they had done did not affect his life in any shape or form..he was in the comfort of his own home..i can't stand people that use situations to unleash their inner bigots..(as i stated in an earlier post) and it disgusted me that my husband was joining the ranks of those that are using this episode to slam a whole group of people in this city....it's disgusting how it is open season to talk smack about certain groups of people but if you even breath a perceived negative comment about other groups...all hell breaks loose.
people say, Canada shouldn't get involved or that it's not our issue..well maybe not..maybe the richest and most powerful in the world should stay out of the plight of the underdeveloped, non north american, third world contries...why bother..let them all rot..and social conciousness.. that too...if that was the sentiment our government and several other governments had during world war 2...we would possibly be living in a society far worse than the one we have to navigate through now..
it's easy for all of us to judge when we have no personal connection..but i do know that there are many people on this board that come from immigrant families..and i also know that none of us can imagine the desperation of the tamils in this city..i don't know what i would do if my family back home was being killed..i don't know how i would eat, sleep, work..etc...knowing that i could get a call at any moment with horrible news....and MAYBE if i was desperate enough, scared enough..I would jump on the Gardiner and protest..maybe i just would..

Maybe they should subscribe to the jayx1 school of thought and bitch about it on a message board instead of stepping up and drawing attention to an issue they care about.
I personally wish I had something to care about enough that would make me break the law in protest, but I don't. Like most people here, I have things pretty easy. So I can't pretend to imagine what drives 1000 people to put their kids on the gardiner...to me that is desperation. These people are not protesting for marijuana or bike lanes here folks.
