For the most part clubs in NY close at 4 unless they are afterhours venues (with no alchohal). There are certain exceptions at times depending on the circumstances. I cant say I am completely certain they will close exactly at 4 but there is a good possibility. The last time I was there for Above and Beyond on Halloween they closed at 4. (It was also the first day of daylight savings time)
"Last Call"
New York - Under state law, establishments must stop serving alcohol by 4am, however the actual closing time is left up to each of New York's 62 counties. The 4 a.m. time holds in New York City, Buffalo, and Albany. Binghamton has a last call of 3 a.m., Syracuse and Rochester have a time of 2 a.m., and Elmira, Geneva, and Ithaca have a time of 1 a.m. Rural counties may be even earlier.

I think Above and Beyond got screwed up with daylight savings. The other times I've been there they've closed around 5. I know alcohol stops at 4, but when they actually close the place is up to the venue I believe. You can't tell a private venue when they have to close unless there is some law I don't know about. The reason most places stop shortly after 4 is because the money from liquor sales stops flowing. |

Exactly!
It's not very profitable to keep the place open for another hour, and pay employees for another hour especially when they aren't making bar sales and everyone already paid to get inside. |

Yeah but to close down right at 4 is very weak. I mean it doesn't cost that much more to keep the power on and payroll the workers another hour or 2. Water sales can probably even cover that. There's a lot of money poured into them over the course of the night, keep it open til 6 and give a proper night. |
