No offense to Eco or the others on the bill, but how long is Armin actually playing each night to justify the $80? I mean, Eco laid down a good set the other night at Love, which cost me $5.
I used to love Armin back in, say 2004-2005...I think I lost it somewhere in 2006. But even those gigs never were that expensive. I remember going to see him at WMC in 2005 and saying " THIS" when tix were $50 at the door rather than the $28 for pre-sales, and going to another party.
I'm sorry, but the only things getting me to pay that much for a party would be a concert where I know who's playing, I love them, and they're NEVER here. You know, someone like Radiohead & Underworld at Liberty State Park a few years ago.
I also don't get this "If you're a fan of trance, you're willing to pay it" argument. That is, by far, one of the stupidest things I've heard. If you're such a trance fan, there are numerous other parties you could hit up that night that play trance, aren't ASOT 450, and cost so much less.
Don't get me wrong, I hope you guys all have a good time, but I find the price absurd. I am by no means cheap, but I'm not dropping $200 each night between cover & drinks.
EDIT: I will also add that if the "If you're a fan of trance" argument held any weight, there'd be a hell of a lot more full trance parties that I'd have attended over the years. When local, trance-only DJs, promote a ton & play on a Friday for $5-10 and the place is empty, what does that tell you? |
Ryan I see your point, but in all fairness, with all these DJ's on the bill, they all have to a be paid to cover travel/hotels/DJ fee, hence the high ticket price. But yes, I agree that it's becoming a bit much. |

True...Armin made it sound like a big deal---I think there is more to come regarding that. Yesterday's info was just a teaser, I believe. |

| Honestly for me, the biggest selling point is that it's at Roseland. I always have a great time at Roseland as these are the parties that everyone I know go to, which makes it a blast. Most of my friends don't go to smaller parties, but if it's at Roseland, they'll definitely be there. :D |

For those of you who do not want to pay $80 per night, i have 2 etickets from ticketweb for sale - $100 for both nights. Im not a sketchy guy and have already sold a couple friends tickets (ask disturbed10890-you will get what you pay for) PM if interested.
On the topic of ticket prices $80 doesnt seem that bad for one night when i just decided to pay $200 for Bal En Blanc VIP which is redic, but i love that party and the godskitchen boombox was something i wanted to check out so in the end its worth it. When you break it down its just a matter of perceived value, and for shows like these there are plenty of people who feel 80-100 is a good value for what they receive and thus the promoter charges out the ass, simple economics and capitalism at its best |

its all about supply and demand pretty much
once tickets go on sale and you have a somewhat feeling you want to go then just pick up your tickets while they are cheap
if the final line-up comes out and you think its not your cup of tea
or you just made other plans, you can always sell your ticket
cause i bet there will always be someone out there who didnt get tickets and is willing to pay for it |

It's business, nobody cares if you don't go because there are 500 people willing to pay double than what you're paying.
