think about it. you KNOW the line up is going to be good. I mean christ almighty. were you worried that ASOT 450 might NOT have an awesome line up? I dunno. I dont get why people dont buy early tickets if you know you're gonna go anyway. cause lets face it, you know.

only reason i havent bought ezoo tix yet is cause i spent mad money on spring break and other dumb . but trust, i'll be grabbing them soon, regardless of the line up

I may be the only one who thought this, but when the NYC lineups where announced, my reaction was a big "meh".

Outside of a couple names on each night (Eco, Rank 1 on Friday, John O' Callaghan, Morph on Saturday), the lineups are underwhelming compared to the other shows.

I want to get Electric Zoo tickets, but I'm waiting to see if a discount code will be released to get rid of that ing ripoff $27 in service charges.

When did I ever say that the people running the show weren't making any profit?

Clubs and promoters literally THRIVE on the people that Kelly just described, just stumbling to the door and paying whatever... Because they pay double what the big trance fan paid, they have a great time, and they don't write negative reviews on the forums the next day.

Double is around $50, not $80.

I was talking more in generalities (parties at Cielo, Pacha, etc.)...

But for the sake of discussion, let's say 2500 of the biggest NYC trance and ASOT fans bought tickets when they were $30. You figure another 1000 people paid the $80 you're all complaining about. That's more than enough to justify them raising the price, as they just made more money on those 1000 people than the 2500 big trance fans, more than %50 of the profit).

I'm gunna stop discussing all of this, don't want my words biting me in the ass when I show up to play that night and the staff is all giving me dirty looks haha...

Just saying, the promoters charge the $80 because the people will pay it. And the DJs charge $50,000-100,000 because the promoters will pay it... Okay, I'm done here, it's an unwinnable battle...

I'm not the right person to be discussing the capitalism of promoting, I personally hate everything about this business haha. Just giving some friendly insight! If it were up to me, we'd all be partying in free warehouse parties!!! :)

70 bucks,,,,, thats a joke... right?

The madeevnts clan owes us an explanation. There is no way to justify increasing the price of the ticket by over 100%.

They should of done this party at a regular club, this situation would of never happened. I have alot of friends in the scene and there all saying that this is turning them off to madeevents big time.

Its armin van buuran not Madonna.....

It's fair to say the event is basically sold out with where the ticket prices are. I'm glad tickets are $80, I wish they were higher actually. But again, it's simple supply/demand. Do you want them to lower the prices just for you and your friends because you can't afford it and decided to wait until now? There will be hundreds of people that will be paying $80+ to this party.

Having it at a club would have been a great idea. That way the prices would have been $150 a piece and the place would have been rammed worse than you can imagine with hundreds of people not being able to see it at all.

It's a very simple concept, pay up or don't go. It's business, nobody cares if you don't go because there are 500 people willing to pay double than what you're paying.

Madeevent owes you an explanation :stongue: Yeah, so does my landlord for charging so much rent. Madevent actually does us a favor by giving us early bird rates. I got my tickets for $30, no complaints here.

This is the only Made Event show that I can recall that the ticket prices have gone up.

You must be high, then. They do this for EVERY event that I've been to in over 5 years.

The difference is that usually, the line-up is announced. I remember getting PVD tix for $25-30 back in 2004-2005 when announced, but you knew who was playing.

I'm sorry, but this "TBA, but pay $40 (or in the EZ case, $120 with fees for 2 days), without a lineup" is not cool.

You're kidding right? Armin show last year was pretty crazy high a few hours before the show.

See everyone there Saturday! Front and Center!:D

I understand some of what you are saying, but this part I dont. I personally, make plenty enough money to pay for the tickets, but my opinion in more along the lines of what Groundhog Boy was saying. He is 1000% correct in this statement:

Also, I can say that even though *I* have the money to pay $80 if I really chose to, that doesnt mean everyone can pay this. I understand some people feel the need to "weed out the crowd," but there are plenty of people out there that are in college, have children, a mortgage, out of a job due to the recesssion, or whatever reason that it is not feasible that they can pay such a price. Considering most people have to pay transportation, drinks, etc on top of the ticket price, $80 is not a very friendly price to those who arent in a position to pay this amount.

Just got my Friday ticket from DGreg, got the Saturday one last week. had some extra cash, so figured I would go both nights. It isnt that I did not want to go, and buy these earlier, but I was low on money.... being a college student is not easy, and sparing money has to be done. I do agree that the prices should not have shot up as much as they did, but people are obviously going to still go to the event. I have never seen Armin, and cant wait for these epic nights.

Agreed. I purchased my tickets right after the annoucement, Which only cost me 30 dollars per night.

Does anyone know what the news about TE and ASOT was?

ASOT 450 will be broadcast to the mainstage of TE on 4/3!

No offense to Eco or the others on the bill, but how long is Armin actually playing each night to justify the $80? I mean, Eco laid down a good set the other night at Love, which cost me $5.

I used to love Armin back in, say 2004-2005...I think I lost it somewhere in 2006. But even those gigs never were that expensive. I remember going to see him at WMC in 2005 and saying " THIS" when tix were $50 at the door rather than the $28 for pre-sales, and going to another party.

I'm sorry, but the only things getting me to pay that much for a party would be a concert where I know who's playing, I love them, and they're NEVER here. You know, someone like Radiohead & Underworld at Liberty State Park a few years ago.

I also don't get this "If you're a fan of trance, you're willing to pay it" argument. That is, by far, one of the stupidest things I've heard. If you're such a trance fan, there are numerous other parties you could hit up that night that play trance, aren't ASOT 450, and cost so much less.

Don't get me wrong, I hope you guys all have a good time, but I find the price absurd. I am by no means cheap, but I'm not dropping $200 each night between cover & drinks.

EDIT: I will also add that if the "If you're a fan of trance" argument held any weight, there'd be a hell of a lot more full trance parties that I'd have attended over the years. When local, trance-only DJs, promote a ton & play on a Friday for $5-10 and the place is empty, what does that tell you?
