Do you approve? Is it considered good beer?

It tastes good to me, but I'm curious how it's thought of in the land of beers.

Joss Weatherby
As his mistaken alt I do not approve.

tho this wasn't directed at me: erdinger is a fine german brewery. their oktoberfest is decent, as is the dunkel. their weissbier is dull. i've never had the urweisse, in fact i'm not even familiar with the style. slight variation on hefe i suppose.

drink this, be happy:

Never seen that one around here, sadly.

My favourite German beer, so far, is Schneider Edel-Weisse:

Just tweaked the title of this thread.

This is now the official COR beer thread.

Let's make it happen.

Post 'em up, people!

Wait, I thought there was already a beer thread.

Anyway, Stu. Did you know that Foster's is Australian for beer?

It is.

I like the that beer a lot actually. The edelweiss is the national flower of austria and I always just assumed it was a play with words or something.

I posted the weihenstephaner because it's probably similar in style to the erdinger beer you started the thread with. Weihenstephaner weissbier is one of my favorite beers I've ever had, without a doubt...blew my mind the first time I tried it.
My second favorite hefe is Paulaner. Maybe you've seen it down by you?

eh, I can't do Weissbier. For some reason it just doesn't work for me.

Talking about German beers though, Augustiner Lagerbier Hell is probably one of the best beers I've had. Admittedly I haven't had it for several years now so my memory may be a little skewed. Its pretty much impossible to get outside of Germany.

Sushi have you been linking with me telepathically? I might need to start wearing a foil hat.

Last night I was at Beer Deluxe (link) drinking Weihenstephaner and Erdinger. Weihenstephaner is better. Both are so perfect for the Aussie summer though; far more drinkable than non-wheat beers.

Beer Deluxe has been open for ages and I only just discovered it. It's the ing business; they serve at least 100 beers with about 10 really excellentr drops on tap. Additionally, they serve excellent beer-accompanying food like samosas and meat balls. Going again this Friday, can't wait.

Think I've heard about it before but haven't been in Melb recently to go there.

So many people keep talking about Paulaner, but I haven't seen it in a single store anywhere around here
