| considering not rooting this thing. no need, performance-wise, unlike my touch pro, and I really do like the out-of-the-box OS. convince me I should bother, Ben. |

I am going to be getting a Nexus One sometime after I get back from Japan. I am done with WinMo. The Evo is a pretty damn good phone. |

I told you to convince me to root my incredible, and this is the argument you come up with? for shame. |

oh lol. Rooting. Do it. Some apps require it to work. And it is usually quite easy. |

Had a chance to thoroughly test out the N99 today for ther first time. Previously i always had only a few minutes to play with the damn thing but today i managed to spend some time with the device. To make the experience sweeter it had a Debian installed. I must say im quite impressed, not enough to actually buy the N900 but one or two generations down the line...quite possibly.
While the hardware is good enough for the default OS, when youre running Debian and playing around with open office, gimp, dosbox... you just want something more. I think i read on engadget a while ago that Nokia will also put the new ultra fast Snapdragon CPUs in its high end devices. If that news was true than there are few things that are more win than that. The only thing besides a faster cpu that i desire is a bigger scren. I was quite satisfied with the screen on my E71, then i made the mistake of playing around with the HD2. While the other WinMo or Android devices with their smaller screens never did that much to impress me i just cant forget the HD2. So a bigger screen and faster hardware and i could forget all abouot jumping on board with Android and stay with with Nokia MeeGo OS (those being the only two true smart phone choices oput there) |

the new snapdragon (1ghz...not sure if it's the same one you're referring to or not) is such a huge upgrade from whatever was in my touch pro. there's no hesitation at all. |
