Because it could have looked like this:

that home button would have been pressed accidentally every time you held the device in landscape. Also the battery would not be able to fit in such a thin body (looks thinner than the HD2) and have enough juice to power the large screen.
but if you still need the large screen get the hd2

Now you're coming around. I may be some dumb bloke on the internet, but I follow this stuff constantly. If it was a rumour I would state that. This instance there are WAY too many things that show it to be real. |

Don't like it. A friend of mine has it, the OS and apps are whack. The screen and design on the other hand are nicer.
gehzumteufel - I'm still in denial. |

I said I am not a fan of the direction they have taken. I am done with WinMo in 2-3 months. Moving on to getting an Android phone. I don't like that native code and filesystem access is forbidden. It is just ridiculous. So I am over it. No need to complain when there are options. |
Were not the only ones that are disappointed in the new direction. The company i sometimes freelance for that does business software development for our local market has already announced to the clients that at this time they (we) dont intend to support WP7. Support for the old WM6.x still continues though, as well for the symbian (nokia E series is big here), BB and android (though that one really needs a good slide out qwertz device to become competitive). Iphone was never supported since its market share in the business segment was zero.
Also i was thinking of swithing from my E71 to the HD2 in the next few months, ust because i find the fact that it can run a PSX emulator at full speed really appealing. But lately ive been texting so much that ive started wearing out the keys on my nokia and i dont know how that would work if i had to type on a virtual keyboard. When i was barely texting that wasnt a problem but now...it could pose a problem. |

| Currently, Android and iPhone seem to be leading the pack and with good reason. I like both and would like both. I have neither. Fail :( |

The new virtual keyboards that they use are quite good, but from experience I can tell you it isn't the same as a hardware keyboard. I have thought about waiting till the business version of the Nexus One comes out, but I am sick of waiting. I am really done with WinMo.
Fledz: heh I don't like the iPhone for many reasons, but yeah, same. I haven't either. Soon though. Soon. |
