Actually, what she is saying is true.
I would say that a majority of those who will be protesting at the upcoming G20 will be doing so to stand up for what they believe is right.
However, there will definitely be a portion of protestors who are simply anti-establishment ruffians whose only goal is simply to disrupt and destroy. |

ok boo-hoo, are they going to break the barriers down? the place will have heavy police presence, nothing major will happen
I have mental pictures of soccer riots in Eastern Europe, these G20 guys won't even hold a candle to that! |

I don't see you making any effort to refute what I'm implying, "Princess".
I'm sure that between your Club Monaco shopping sprees and your Starbucks lattes you're investing oodles of time learning about the world that exists outside of your tiny sphere of existence and thinking long and hard about the personal changes and efforts you could enact to make it a more equitable and liveable place for everyone.
Right? | exactly what have you done that makes you so preachy towards others? been to 3rd world country to do humanitarian work lately? (attending protests and eating veggies only or whatever does not qualify)
your holier than thou attitude is more anything than that guy who's name shall not be spoken |

wow Margs it's time you took a chill pill, too many rolling eyes!
if you think that everyone will always agree with you, you're utterly blind
I don't argue with you because you're you, it's because I don't agree with you, so sue me! :)
oh and bravo! I don't have anything to say? thanks for the insult lady :) |
you can reread what i wrote. i didn't mean to say that you don't have anything to say. i meant to say that there isn't a time when you don't have anything to say. which means you always have something to say. and most of the time it's to disagree with me. that's all. that is what makes me laugh. i respect you enough not to ingore you tho, like i do with a lot of other people.

yeah, my huge pack of one "princess".
| quote: | if you have specific questions towards G20 protestors, then you're directing them to a wrong place - find people who're organizing it, call them, email them, whatever
otherwise - why do you assume that what they're protesting about is useless and worthless? |
i didn't say that their causes are worthless, i said that protesting is worthless especially when something bad happens. it goes against the whole idea.
also, in my first post, i asked for contact information as to who to contact about this and where to read about the plans. some people posted some links but no one actually took the time to direct me to the correct people. pivot just assumed i was some spoiled shopaholic and i was complaining about nothing.

wreck stuff? right. |
they will wreck stuff. there will be evil people there. they absolutely will try to cause kaos. |

yeah. i honestly wasn't even going to say anything but the starbucks thing was so silly. to make any assumption about me based on me complaining about the protesters is just weird. |

thank you and I appreciate that, lol, but rest assured I only reply when I have something to say - even if it contradicts what you say, I can't help it

he definitely stretched it with his shopaholic rant, and I don't like that
have you tried FB? they probably have a fan page of some sort, like with any protest organizers

well I hope you're wrong
I give them the benefit of the doubt that they're smarter then that - considering that they travel here specifically to protest against G20, I hope they understand that violence won't help their cause |

I suggest you do some reading on the protests of any of the previous G8 or G20 meetings. They are certainly something to hold a candle to. |

a friend of mine worked for G8 summit in St. Petersburg in 2006 - everyone was just promptly arrested and detained before
if anything, it was police violence that prevailed, not other way around (God bless Russian militia) |

some people in the world are poor. and it sucks.. but im supposed to feel guilty about that every day of my life? Ive seen abject poverty up close and personal. And im thankful that i am not in that situation. But i dont ever feel guilty for it. |
Yes, it does suck, but who said anything about guilt? It's called compassion, and it's usually what fuels the impetus for constructive change.

on the contrary, i do whatever i can to help when i can. Not through agencies, not through governments, but by doing something as simple as buying them lunch, or supporting a local by paying them big time money to eat in their home and buy their crafts. In grand scheme of the world its not much, but its something. |
You're right, it is something, and it would be nice if more people would think along those lines.

We are headed down the path of the third world because we dont bother to do anything when we are wronged. |
Which is exactly how current nations that are in abject poverty got there - too much corruption and far too little objection to it. So, someone like StereoPrincess can choose to deal with it now, while it's seemingly far, far away, or later, when it's right on her doorstep.

The HST is not bread and circuses, in fact its going to make a lot of marginal people in this province bonefide poor. Poor people are more likely to heat with electricity for starters. Hows that for justice? |
I never said the HST was bread and circuses, I was referring to the $1000 supplementary cheque and the retard hooplah over the naming of a new national animal. |
