The Khmer Rouge thought what they were doing was right too...

Who are you to say that small, conscious changes in one's personal habits and choices don't count for anything?

They absolutely do. Small changes are what got us into a lot of the messes that we are in today. If you look just at the environmental side: don't use a reusable broom, get a Swiffer. Cloth towel for clean up? Nope use paper towel, and throw away your mess. It can go on and on and on, and be applied to all facets of our lives.

Saying that small changes do not impact anything is giving yourself cause for being lazy. For those business students, marginal changes have can have a huge effect on the bottom line, you have seen that time and time again.

good for you that you choose to live a certain lifestyle

still makes you laughable for projecting an image of yourself as some super cool saviour of the world because my lifestyle is better than yours.

again, come talk to me when you've done something worth noting, not just deciding to buy recycled products at a supermarket or attending some protest rally

easy for you to criticize from the comforts of your own home

but who are you to say that your changes/lifestyle choices are better than others? not only that, how do you know that other people are not making the same choices and more and just not bragging about them.

Nice that Starbucks' own website makes them out to be ethical and caring, and while I'm sure they're making surface efforts (wow, a whole 4.1% reduction in the 6 million gallons of water they've been accused of wasting every day!), it's the consumer buying into that image that's a big part of the problem.

Who's bragging? I'm suggesting. So far, I only see you distracting from and deflecting those suggestions - not once have you opined that any of what I've proposed might actually be worth looking into.
