Voting for Ford will get nothing done in this city. All you will see is him fighting and shouting at everyone in the city hall.

Time to give the panicked diatribes a rest, dude. I both live and work in the downtown core. From where I stand things are not even close to being as bad as you seem to have convinced yourself that they are.
Jay, I can't recall, but do you even live within the 416 area code? How many times a week do you come into town, and what percentage of your income would you say is actually spent in Toronto?

Posted this in Jay's other thread - something to consider before going to the polls today, especially if you've found yourself caught up in the constant spew of doom-and-gloom-if-I'm-not-elected messages from the two leading candidates:

i wish i had rose coloured glasses!
I have an address downtown and im back in forth alot. I get to see the whole city every week, not just downtown. And all is NOT right with the city!
What percentage of my income is spent in toronto? I can assure you these days its much less in the past. Partly due to the higher taxes and fees that eat away at that income!

And all is equally not as wrong as you make it out to be. Did you watch the onetoronto vid? Opinion?

i have watched enough of those videos.
You have your opinion about the state of the city and i have mine. If you dont think the city has been in decline over the last 7 years, then you are in the minority.

That's not really an opinion, you know.
Well, I guess it is, but that wasn't what I was asking you.

What astounding ignorance...Toronto's property taxes are the lowest in the GTA...thats a fact. Everything cited in the video PivotTechno posted is either a statistical fact (tax & budget data), or based on studies from outside sources (quality of life surveys, etc). You only refuse to watch it because it disproves your simplistic and blindly emotional views on the state of the city.
Also, tell me, whats "declining" in Toronto?
You cite traffic - thats one example. But thats not decline, thats a symptom of a growing city. And whats needed to solve that is spending more to expand infrastructure to deal with the traffic & transit congestion, not slashing the budget. Doing that will result in actual decline.
