You do realize that streetcars have a higher capacity than buses, right? To replace streetcars with buses would take a hell of a lot of buses, and as such, even more congestion.

we still have no subway to York University and none to the airport....I can't think of any major city that lacks a subway connection to the airport...

Montreal, New York (sorta), Los Angeles, etc. :P

A subway to the airport is kind of needless, especially given the distance to the core and the relative sparsity of the area surrounding it. Better is an express commuter line connecting Pearson to Union Station (which is the in works, through GO Transit).

You're right. It's only busy for 2 hours a day. The rest of the time it's pretty dead. Ford's plan of creating a closed-loop system looks more like a game of connect the dots. Remains to be seen if it positively affects people living in those areas. However, what I really can't wait to see is if this will be done by 2015 in time for the Pan-Am games and if it will stay with the 4 billion budget as promised by Ford.

umm. you work and live in toronto. you can definitely vote. as long as you have some sort of mailing or ID with your toronto address. even your pay stub works.

Wish I had known this before it was too late. I read that you needed a voter registration card in the paper the day I posted. Today I read that all you need is an ID or pay stub etc in another paper when I get to work at 530pm :sadgreen:

Add to that list Sandra Bussin in Toronto Beaches, and Linda Jackson being kicked out of the Mayor's seat in Vaughan.

I agree that the Sheppard line is retarded...

What is needed is a line across Steeles..

Allllll the way across...

Anyway.. Good for Ford...

It'll be good to see things shaken up and he really couldn't do worse than past recent mayors...

Mel Lastman built that line cause he's from North York and was North York's mayor before the amalgamation.

I've been saying this for a while, they need to build a subway station to Square One that would help relieve a lot of the traffic coming from the West like on the 403, 401, QEW, Lakeshore.

And LMAO at Daniel Walker getting over 800 votes...

He can thank the Dean Blundell Show for that one...
