uh what makes you think drums would add anything to that track? he obviously focuses on melodies, not percussion, whether or not you think that's a bad thing probably determines if you like him or not but he's not a bad musician because of it. |
usually good percussion can only help a track, it wont take away the focus from the melody, if he is so afraid of drums maybe he should try make some classical comps instead. im not having a go at his music really but the fact that he felt the need to make a blogpost about something as traditional as evolving is weird. airbase did the same years ago and look whos still making trance. |

| So I guess he wasn't making worthwhile money out of it either. |

Average percussion doesn't take away from a track either, especially one that's so obviously focused on songwriting over a "pulse". Nobody will ever dance to something like that and I'm pretty sure Blueman knows it.
I also don't know why you think it's weird that he decided to put in his blog that he's completely changing the direction he's going in music. It's not like he released a press statement about it or anything, just posted it on his Myspace. |

I grew up on uplifting so I will never ever get tired of the "messy melodies" as per ken_lee's statement.
Sad this guy is leaving, he put out some quality epics over the last couple of years, I don't think it is forever though |

I've heard his name on here a few times but dont know who he is, think ill check out his tracks soon.
Shame as he says that if film doesnt work out he will quit music. By the sounds of it to have 3 good years and move on then if things dont work out quit music altogether is harsh. You would have thought he'd prob still do something to do with music if all else fails, afterall its hard to quit a passion I believe. But not that it doesnt happen. |

completely changing the direction |
no one knows this before his next release really, so its pretty pointless to say it. its like im saying im gonna write a book, who cares. if i actually have written a book it might be worth telling about. he should have waited until he actually got any material to prove this "radical change" to avoid looking like a salesman. i hate empty adverts and i must comment on it, sorry. how i consider it now is that he is done with music for good and found out it payed of better working as a paperboy. people who say what they are going to do always fail at doing it, its almost a rule of thumb. he is an ass not knowing this. |

| Honestly Palm, you look like you're just typing for the sake of it now. It's his blog, he can write whatever the hell he wants to on it. |

| im serious its never clever to give away your future plans, people will comment you on it when u fail at it. |

Someone on TED said that vocalizing our goals gives us part of the social satisfaction of achieving them; therefore, we are less likely to achieve them.
I can't say I am on here to make music. |

What's the difference between writing for percussion and song writing? |
|
|

| i think songwriting is when you dont want the crowd to dance to it. |
