Sonicvibe is done with trance, too. Probably old news though. I am too for the most part. Listening and producing. I was never a very good "uplifting trance" producer, never got all the elements nailed. I appreciate solid releases and respect the producers tremendously, but I'm "over it" for the most part. Would I be bored at an all trance party? No way, I would feel at home. Sounds conflicted? It is. lol
I think it's interesting someone can do so well with something and not want to continue, but he is probably just at a personal crossroads. I doubt he will quit music because living with the guilt of wasting talent is the worst. his honesty is good though |
Serious? omg i loved his stuff. Also everyone needs to chill out why dont you all just reach deep into your heart and make music you love and just keep at it thats why we are all here. Dont ask about how to sound like so and so or does my kick complement each other or does this sound ok who cares just make your music. I got told once that dont bother comparing your tracks to that of mastered tracks because that is a mastering engineers job. I just wish people would still make trance that we all know and love experiment with soundscapes and sounds and just open your mind even if people dont get your music just do it for the love of it. Alot of people these days are all about the money and wanting to become a big name and hence the music they produce goes out the window with that view just experiment and open your mind i know im probably blabbling on but if people just made glorious music and emotional pieces rather than bickering the world would be a better place. We need producers like us to keep the trance scene alive who cares if your not a name or are a name we all should just join forces and keep trance alive. I think alot of it comes with the bpm i don't think people will agree with me but i genuinely believe that when trance dropped below 135 bpm it has lost its energy. When you go to clubs you want to hear energy and tunes that grip your soul and make you feel alive and i just dont feel that with music these days. I continue to produce tunes at 137-144 bpm because i love that energy. Btw on that note i think producers on here should each make a song and make a tranceaddict album :)
Sorry if some people dont like my views but i just want people to realise that music comes from your heart it shouldnt matter whether or not the scene is dictated by a handful of djs just get on with it and do what we all love! :) |

Well Andy does most his tracks at 138bpm so if anything he's doing that right.
Also, I would expect airbase to have a bit more experience and time in making trance I mean he's been doing it for how long now?
Andy made his first track in 2007, could you imagine what his sound would have sounded like by 2014? Airbase also (if I remember correctly) is a piano guru and has had formal training teaching piano.
Andy came in as some young nobody with a copy of cubase, no midi keyboard, and no hardware besides that. Airbase prob had 10 years of experience writing melodies before he even started making trance, but I just know the contexts are totally different.
I'm not judging him purely by his melodies and percussion, I'm taking everything into account about him as a person.
And wtf with "common chords"? Ok, then name them. What are the progressions? Andy's melodic content in a single track is likely more than you will ever accomplish your entire life.
Nobody came into this thread calling the guy a superstar. And you will notice more people like his music then less. He has a style, and he wasn't really in the game long enough to for his style to evolve. Although what he accomplished in his short time here I consider impressive.
Now he's moving on to scoring and he's just going to further grow as a musician/artist. By the time he's Airbases age I'm sure you'll be able to draw a much fairer comparison. |

This is 2003 at least (almost 8 years, a lot of time) don't get wrong, this tracks are unreleased but i've listened to some of them and are even better than what he releases nowadays.
You can listen to this sample as it is leaked:

Jezper's 1st release is in 2002 i believe, well Airbase is a master with melodies, he even has a midi pack, looks like he is so good that he can share his ideas and still keep improving them. I'm sure he has a background and most notably he isn't a whore with a stadium size studio packed with tech toys, nope, he only has a modest midi keyboard and ableton , all he needs to make some of the best trance.
** Just a little question here, he has some tracks along with his brother named First & Andre - Cruiser, and Widescreen , more info about his brother?? He is probably another music beast **
Actually Andy deserves a respect because if it's true that he has no music background he is a genius, just check the link i've posted above, this was made several years ago when he was less experienced, do you think that if we quit Andy Blueman and put Hans Zimmer people would notice the difference??? People would be saying this is Hans Zimmer's best work?¿?
Respect for him at least, i prefer him quiting trance, true talent shouldn't be wasted in search of ASOT/TATW airplay. |

Indeed correct - From what it says on the interwebnet, he was making ambient for several years, then used that moniker for trance for a while then switched to AB when he stopped doing ambient altogether.
Doesn't really change anything apart from Robby's view that this guy who had never heard music before, just got cubase and became a boner inducing trance god :p

you didn't have time enough to listen to the track so this is just posting for posting, Hans Zimmer has really nice OST's but riding through the morning myst could make into a decent film for sure. |

| If he lost his passion for trance, he did right. In the end he got a name and fame because of his talent. He is surely trying to find another "genre", industry that can fulfill or not his goals. |

Not the point. Scoring a film is a little more difficult than a music director choosing a pre-existing work to track part of a film with. |
