I enjoy playing with my stuff and finding vibes.
If others enjoy them too > fine, if not? also fine (not much you CAN/WANT TO change)
I say the esthablised "entities" We do our own releases, our own viral marketing en "our thing" We understand it costs money and we're prepared to invest. Why do we do it? because we like sharing our stuff and because we can :D
It's just a hobby, maintaining a Porsche as fun car costs more.
so does taking 4 holidays per year, or collecting art.
Don't take life to serious, have no expectations, be happily surprised with your Beatport statements and enjoy the ride.
If you don't want to DJ and get gigs, then there is NO MONEY in EDM, you will only be the Penny Whore of Armada/Anjuna/Blackhole |

People telling Ky he needs to adopt the perspective of clubgoers is like people telling me I have to adopt the perspective of a drunk.
90% of club goers are drunk/drug addicts in the first place. Ok NO I'm sorry thats not true, many people go sober just because they love the music :o
I was at a club last night and just so happens someone had got in a huge bag of shrooms. Seems like every other person I saw was high, drunk, or shrooming. I wound up going outside for 2 hours waiting for a taxi that never came. But I had more fun outside alone then around those mindless s. I am definitely not a club person and always enjoy my music alone in the car, gym, work, school, or w/e. But definitely not around a bunch of hi s who aren't even listening to the music. Although I'm sure I'm just missing all the good clubs lol.
The only perspective anyone should be trying to understand is Bluemans. I'd also love to see these "muddy" melodies you people speak of. And no you can't link youtube vids because I know thats the only place you're hearing them. Try buying his music it might sound clearer to you.
Blueman is a talented artist imo and Kysora just linked one song which for a nonfollower would really not change much opinion at all. I honestly don't give a if you like him or not. I do and thats all that really counts. But the s making a big deal about a stupid blog, please, get a life. And the problem is not your english kenny rogers ken lee palm w/e the your name is. The problem is sometimes you just say incredibly stupid things, quite like kitphillips, quite like richie v, quite likey mystery, quite like myself.. and a lot of people on this forum.
So no I don't think your evil, but gzz who cares? Bluemans awesome. If you don't think so, than we'll just fight and get it over the easy way. :toothless |

I barely knew who andy blueman was when this thread came up.
Firstly his "film score" stuff is nothing that I haven't heard from any one of a thousand penniless composers trying to get a real film gig. Bear in mind I work in the score industry for the guys he's so obviously trying to copy (one, my boss, springs to mind in particular).
I've now taken the time to listen to a few and while I;ve certainly heard worse, it's fairly generic and nothing I haven't heard before. It's also completely different thing to actually score to pitcure and I can't even begin to explain how much more complex that aspect is over just writing some orchestra music and adding filmesque sounds.
In fact, I have a business interest in a day spa (random, I know) and I had to select all the music for the rooms. That track the Ky posted with the flute sounds like ever other ing track on those boring as spa compilation CD's that are a dime a dozen.
Not trying to burst your bubble Ky, and he obviously isn't a bad producer, but sometimes people quite when they have got big in an attempt to immortalise their current status at the top of their game....but I also think he wants to cause a stir and he wouldn't be the first to do this exat same thing in the hopes of getting score work, where the money is VERY serious.
I do get he's maybe bored of the politics and business side, which is completely understandable and I've seen many a talented producer move on to other things from their experiences but I just think theres more to it.
@kit, you're not totally wrong, but not having an education is the extreme exception to the rule. For a start very few places will give you a foot in the door (getting tea) without a degree in music composition or similar |

Is it so hard to believe that the guy has just lost his passion for making trance music and wants to move on to a different area, one where his passion currently lies? Why does there have to be more to it?
I think you're being far too cynical. While I care little for Bluemans trance tunes, I respect the guy for moving on when his love for this music has died, when he could so easily churn out countless more tunes over the next few years, cashing in on his established name, getting plenty of DJ gigs etc etc. |

I only really enjoy a small number of artists and I've listened to them enough to not really want to listen to them very frequently. |
I think you must be one of an incredibly small minority of producers who make music that is in a style they rarely enjoy listening to.
In fact, were it not for you, I wouldn't have believed there could be producers like you. Bizarre! |

No, really, I have absolutely no idea who he is. I've never been cool in my entire life. |
O rly? you haven't been in the MD in the last 3 years??
I'm sure that Osterzone(sp?) made 5 threads about him and i'm sure that in one point you came into one of them and called it "Generic tripe". |
