Sutra is wayyyy too small for someone as big as GE. That place becomes a sardine-fest by 11pm for someone much less popular than him. |
?
i would say 85% of the djs that play at sutra on thursday have a significantly larger draw than GE, thats why they are playing there and he isnt.
this thread is pure rubbish by the way. who cares if somebody heard a trance set they didnt like. There are plenty others to listen to, find another one. |

Come on. Gareth obviously has questionable taste. Look at the skanks he's hooked up with. I mean who the hell would want deadrats sloppy seconds? lol |
somewhat off topic but where does this comment stem from?? haha |

-not just Dinka, but the Blizzard as well.
Lately for the past couple months I've been riding on the progressive house wagon. now that I've listened to so much it's becoming more difficult to find ones that really like. this past weekend (and after seeing ferry corsten at sutra), ive gotten the mctrance fever all over again. as for the "trance" tracks today, I'd have to agree with the comments posted before about it being not as it was before (like how it has always been for these last few years). Makes me want to dig up the asot 150-250 playlists and mix some of those with the cheesy late 90s-early 00s dance hits, as well as some of the fresher, soulful, funkier prog house of recent.
and if you have a HUGE problem with the sets people have been playing, go learn how to dj or produce yourself (its much more exciting and interesting that way after all) |

Every time I've gone to Sutra, even for DJs that have less drawing power than GE, it has become insanely packed by 11pm-ish. That is why I refuse to go back there. |

smart guy, I dislike how some promoters promote cluster f**! parties as a reason to show up....weak sauce.

Agreed. If you pay attention to the crowd, you'll see that hardly any of them are there for the particular DJ anyways, so regardless of who's playing, the place gets packed.
If you really want to see Gareth, see him at his Northern Lights tour at the Music Box, although from what I understand, thats also a questionable venue. |

Lets not bag on GE anymore. The last thing we want is OMFG!
a house artist to take his spot this year. Unless its Dinka, that women knows how to blend proggy house into trance and back. |
Isn't she just the "face" of Dinka?
Thought most of the actual productions were done by Christian Hirt (half of Chris Reece). He owns Unreleased Digital. Notice how most of Dinka's releases are under his label Unreleased?

That is correct! Christian Kirt is half of Dinka, half of Chris Reece, and part of the Helvetic Nerds, he is also Passenger 10 himself and owns Unreleased Digital. Guy is a ing madman. My hero :p

this thread is absurd. I was there for this set and he had the crowd jumping up and down and going INSANE the entire set, myself included. Hate on vocal tracks all you want, but whenever they are played(and yes including in the main room at cream amensia in ibiza, the mecca of trance) EVERYONE sings along and goes crazy
one of the best things about gareth's set was he actually dj'd. he didn't just let a playlist rip, he gave songs just the right amount of playtime. this was the best set i've ever heard and i love pure trance as much as anyone, a great PvD set with one vocal track every 2 hours puts me in heaven.
just cause it has words doesn't make it cheese. what is supposed to be the point of music at a live show? to put you in a state of complete euphoria and facilitate having the time of your life. well guess what, this is never more apparent than when a great vocal track is played. even more so in ibiza than anywhere else, when a vocal track comes on and I don't know the words I find myself looking around and being one of the only ones in the room who isn't singing. I guess the next response is going to tell me that Cream has been invaded by "kids"(all 5000 of them each night) who don't understand real trance and are ruining the genre. gimme a fking break |
