More power to you who still like his sets, but the guy was easily one of the best DJs and producers in my opinion 2-3 years ago and well on his way to being the best, and now for the last 1-1.5 years, he's been on repeat making me cringe.

This. It's very frustrating seeing someone with so much talent and potential just phoning it in and making ty vocal records one after another. There's a reason people are trashing the guy's set and his productions, and it doesn't have anything to do with him as a person. The music he's putting out is , and way below the standards he set for himself back in the day.

Oh and Tosh, I realize that using big words doesn't necessitate my correctness, but thank you for sharing that little gem of knowledge. If you have anymore grand realizations please free to post, because such an eloquent contributor such as yourself should try to share the wealth of knowledge that is clearly just bursting at the seems of your thick, thick skull.

Gareth Emery doesn't suck. He's a very talented DJ and producer and I've really dug a lot of the stuff he's done in the past. It just seems like he's all aboard the cheese train now.

I heard GE was put on a 72 hour hold after he heard the news. Armin, Tiesto, and SvD are taking turns consoling him.

He's still talented at what he does. I just don't appreciate or have any interest in what he does now.

Lol! Sure hope he is better when he plays here in LA. Already have tickets and they were pricey.

Maybe he played those tracks in Miami because he thought that would be the feel for that type of crowd. I'm sure he knows the difference, when he goes to a club that really likes the trance. He really did kick ass last year here in LA.

I can't believe I just read all 8 pages.

I was at UMF and while I will agree that this set was not what I expected to hear, I wasn't turned off by it. Looking back, I understand why he picked the tracks he did. He was showcasing his work (songs & mash-ups) at a large festival and wasn't looking to build an "amazing club set." Just my opinion, anyway.

I'm fairly easy to please when it comes to trance, though. It was mash-up galore, sure, but at least mash-ups bring something new to the table (usually) instead of listening to the originals for the 34986th time, no matter how much I might love them. :)

Maybe he knew that playing at a large festival meant playing in front of many people that don't know him and he wanted them to hear his music and perhaps build his fanbase? Obviously that's not going to please existing fans and hardcore critics.

Not trying to change the topic, but I also went to Anjunabeats in Miami and I was floored by how much I liked Gabriel & Dresden's set. Has their style changed significantly since they reunited or is it just me? BTW their set contained 7 mash-ups out of 15 tracks.

Hopefully you get what you paid for. He always has the potential to put together a great set, it just seems like it's been hit or miss recently.

Should have got the Sutra tickets!

Just finished listening, it's far from his best set. It had very little flow, he'd just jump between tracks.
Over all, i liked it, but it wasn't his strongest work for sure!
