Damn... that's incredible. Hell, I would have liked to go to that; I bet it's a great time. Truth be told, I've been missing the big nights of yore lately ;)

Im not a big fan of his music. But he has done an amazing job the past few years. Like someone said, who knew that nerd dj that no one heard of playing at FW would become so huge.

I know he has some ego issues, he has done somethings that is pretty awesome. Like going to cherry beach to chill out, coming on the Bound by Sound boat and playing, playing at Sydney Blu's bday at FW.

Congrats to Joe and Fab, Sydney, and Joel.

Looked amazing for the short time it was live.. reminded me of the massives of over a decade ago in Toronto. As it ended it seemed as if he was starting to play some great tunes.

The Skydome looks like it'd be perfect for an Armin Only show in the future.

Before this event, I wondered why it wasn't getting much play here. Now I know. I'll never make that mistake again. Now I must dance, something which was in short supply at Rogers tonight.

I am wondering ... what is the difference between Joel's first "concert" at Skydome and Tiesto's first "concert"?

How come Tiesto was bashed for doing it and apparently Joel is being praised for doing the same thing? Keep music talent aside (although personally i have a hard time separating the two)try to compare then and now. If you are passionate about music and have been following the scene for a number of years i am sure your thoughts will reveal some rather interesting facts about "your scene" and how we judge people :haha:

Well I think it's pretty clear and easy to see.

Even though the majority of us don't appreciate his musical styling's or can't identify with the crowd he brings out to his events it is easy to show support and appreciation for an event of this nature when the main act behind it is a local kid. The fact that he had a few local legends open up for him helps as well. This also isn't some regular arena show, it's the Skydome ffs lol. It is pretty cool that it is being used for an event like this, and it is even cooler that the first time that it is being used is not for some hack DJ from overseas but for one of our own home-grown superstars of which there aren't many of.

So although I would still never be caught dead at one of his shows I still have to give him respect for pulling off something of this magnitude in the city. Something that would have been completely unimaginable a few years ago.

This along with warehouse parties that are emerging once again in toronto are a positive sign.

This is nothing new though. Skydome parties, Science Centre parties, and even top of the cn tower raves used to happen quite a bit. For this generation though it is definitely a milestone and a very encouraging sign that toronto may be coming out of the dark ages.

All we need now is a condo market collapse and everything will come up Millhouse! :D

Well that was something different last night...

Went and:

-Wow setup was pretty serious. Can't believe he tours around the world with most of that equipment.

-Blatant cop gave us the "hey can I score some drugs?" bs not even 5 seconds after entering the field. Any idiot ever tricked by those guys really deserves to be caught out of stupidity.

-Sounds was pretty much as good as you can get for that setting not too bad at all.

-Never seen so much jailbait in my life. Makes me want to go party in a retirement hope today just to balance things out.

-Never heard so much electro in my life. Opening acts were decent some better than deadmau5 for sure. Holy do the youngins ever eat his stuff up though. There were periodic pushy groups moving around trying to get to the front or out, but the general crowd was waaaay more friendly/respectful than I expected. I guess they just get all elbowy when they visit the guv.

-Stopped serving beer at midnight which was quite weak. Would've helped ease the ears for that alarm clock electro mentioned above.

Overall it was decent though. $50 is $50 and if the cards came together I would do something like this again just for the experience. Definitely weird partying on the field where I've seen so many Jays games but it would be cool if they did more stuff like this here. Armin only or another multiheadliner would be great. It was an obvious success from a business perspective, attendance was massive, tickets going for 4x times the cost the demand is definitely there.
