these were the set times...

Doors: 6:30pm
Manzone & Strong: 7pm
Iris Elba: 8pm
Sydney Blu: 9pm
Crystal Castles: 10pm
MSTRKRFT: 11pm
Deadmau5: 12pm

I really doubt Crystal Castles was playing anything even sounding like it could be a mau5 track... Possibly Sydney Blu playing one of her Mau5trap records?

Photos are huge, big night apparently haha.

Well, big ups to Joel imo even though his productions aren't my cup of tea... but who cares about that? I still have respect for doing an event at Rogers centre :)

Definitely wasn't Crystal Castles. I got there a bit after their set started. Mstrkrft played a couple remixes of his stuff so probably referring to them. They were ones not too much like the originals though and surely stuff he wasn't going to play so it was more to hype the crowd up than anything.

One cool thing it took me way too long to realize but this was a 100% Canadian artist deal. That in itself is kind of nice regardless of the music being played.

something interesting going on in this thread. people are marveled by his commercialism and not his music :sadgreen:. hes so good at that.

Omg bro it was a new mau5head and totally new bro. Oh I think he might have previewed a new track too? Not really sure, was way to focused on the mau5head, fancy screens and bright lights...

Cool story: apparently this makes Deadmau5 the first Canadian artist to headline a show at the Skydome. Pretty impressive for both electronic music and Canadian music in Toronto.

And hey, while none of us here much like his tunes, at least they're a hell of a lot better than the being put out by Tiesto and Guetta - who are, realistically, his closest "competitors".

Also kinda cool that Crystal Castles were playing a venue like this - while just a few weeks ago they were playing a free illegal parry by the Don River.

This is nothing new though. Skydome parties...and even top of the cn tower raves used to happen quite a bit.

Uhh, quite a bit? I think you mean never and once.

I wonder if he secretly hates having to wear the mau5head

I heard 16k, but regardless, it looks like a massive event.

And I have to say, as far as mainstream productions go (and hell, as far as any productions go), I've always thought he had some stellar stuff. Perhaps not extremely deep on the sound design side of things, but the actual polish and mixdown is crazy good - something anyone who makes any kind of music can appreciate.
