I went in with zero expectations from his actual music, and those was met quite well... lol. Some of his older prog stuff was golden (never plays it anymore) but nowadays it all sounds like alarm clocks, screeching subway tracks with a bit of dubstep mixed in for good measure. He really only plays 95% his own tracks as well so if you know what he's made in the last 2 or 3 years then you pretty much know what you're going to hear with any surprises.

Figured as much. Was he even mixing? What I saw from the livestream he did a quick cut and jumped around and didnt really "flow".

I thought it was an awesome party because it brought back the huge 90s era warehouse feel. Those massive Better Living Center parties which i do miss. Im getting excited for Carl Cox next week and i hope the trend continues.

The party itself was great all around. Everyone was having a good time. The stage setup and visuals were insane watching live.

From my understanding his shows with the cube and other visuals are prerecorded or very close to it so everything looks in sync with the music. I don't think mixing is really on the radar unless its an "unhooked" gig or one without all the touring gear.

I got to the RC last night at 10ish and thought that mau5 was on stage because someone was playing his trackS...huge party foul...who plays the headliners music before headliner is on. I have one word to describe the RC last night...glowfest... that being said seeing all of the other glowsticks made me feel not so bad for having little finger lights. There were a bunch of people dressed as candy ravers.

The production of the show was amazing, it was one of the first times that I have actually watched the screen. He played a lot of new songs that werent really my cup of tea. The encore was one of the best parts he played some of his old tracks. Part of what I love about Joel's music is the heavy base which was seriously lacking in his new songs...bring back his music from 2007 with the production from last night and it would have been a mind blowing experience...that being said really glad I went...over all I would give the night an 8/10

He sold out our biggest concert hall (2500 people) 4 nights in a row here in Montreal so there's no question he can sell out an arena, but the Skydome? Whoa. What was the attendance?

something interesting going on in this thread. people are marveled by his commercialism and not his music :sadgreen:. hes so good at that.

It wasn't the entire venue (~55,000+), they screen off a bunch of it for concerts. The actual capacity will vary depending on the booking. But yeah, I'd be curious to know how many tickets were actually sold.
