I don't see what's bad about psychedelics changing your life for the better forever. :gsmile:
Like my friend charlotte had heaps of eating disorders and cut all the time until she had acid the first time. I know you might not approve, but still.
Anyone else find they appreciate psytrance a hell of a lot more since trying acid? My best friend can quite get into it now. She loves the track eater of worlds by penta just because of how ridiculous/evil it is now.
I'm also really motivated to try making it, hopefully I'll be somewhat competent within 6 months. |

Will post here if they arrive. |

Well I know how easy (or hard) it is to get diagnosed with depression, and I met quite a few people at festivals who were or are and find that psychedelics quite improves their life.
So yeh, maybe not anything extremely serious but as I said with mediumly bad or less all evidence I've seen points to it being alright. |
don't mean to say its impossible, but I would say its unlikely...
chronic/clinical depression is a genetic, not a psychological disorder (excuse the semantic contradiction)... its not a mental state, where you can control how you feel. You're down no matter what. You can have everything, be in the most objectively perfect position in the world, and feel like absolute . That is what seperates depression from feeling depressed imo. There's a difference between feeling depressed because bad happened (normal), and feeling depressed because you have depression (psychological illness).
Its not hard to be 'diagnosed' with a mental disorder these days, everybody's neurotic, narcissistic and a hypochondriac-- Pretty much anyone could go into a psychiatrist's office, tell them their parents didn't love them enough and be perscribed as depressed. I don't think domesticated was talking about these people, but perhaps you were. Its cool some people you've met who are depressive types have experimented with drugs at raves and felt better for it. Depressed people wouldn't be out at a rave in the first place :p

Well maybe just the people I know feel depressed for like 3-5 years straight.
And yeh, I know what (one varient at least) is like. You're not gonna have a good day just by going out and having fun, however if you get a lot of new friends and really find your place in life then you definitely can get happier. |

Tampanensis. Not looking for anything too intense yet, just after a giggle at the park with a mate. If this order gets through I'll be making another one for some more serious stuff. |

It's very difficult to predict what psychoactive substances are going to do to specific people. For some, the experience of an intense mushroom trip is enlightening and spiritual beyond words. These are usually the people who come away with very positive experiences that change their lives for the better. For others, the experience can be hours of torment as the loss of control over your perceptions and mental abilities can spiral into a full-blown panic attack, which on psychedelics I can only imagine to be obscenely terrifying.
I'm sure psychedelics can help people overcome personal issues, or help put some things into perspective that overall increases their quality of life, but at the same time they can have a drastically detrimental effect on people who are already primed for some type of mental disorder. In some cases, exacerbating the issue. |

| I know this fat cunt who took ecstasy for the first time, had a "bad trip" and refused to touch it again. :haha: |

| Hmmm, the only thing that's ever been rough for me on E was the come up, I just don't like how jarring coming up on anything is. Once you get "there" though, pfffft, like it matters. :p |

| Yeah I've thrown up once or twice on the come up, but like immediately after I threw up everything was more than fine. |
