Does the COR approve if I (or anyone else) occasionally like(s) a hiphop/r&b tune? (pg. 8)

Or it's like reading the cliff notes for a novel. You are only getting half of the intended meaning, which means you don't understand it completely.

That seems incredibly strange that you'd only read the lyrics without listening to the song. A rapper's "skill" is how their lyrics flow with the music, and how the song is put together. I would imagine Raekwon has a bit more flow than your inner voice reading the lyrics to yourself :p Reading lyrics without the accompanying music just seems silly.

We're having trouble understanding your viewpoint because it's ing retarded. Voice inflection, timing, and flow has everything to do with how the message in a hip-hop track is portrayed. By reading it, you aren't getting the message at all, regardless of how much you say you are.

It bores me to death.

Is that clear enough? :)

Kind of like listening to Tchaikovsky's violin concerto in D major by reading the sheet music.

I couldn't even begin to imagine reading hip-hop lyrics to even be remotely less boring.

Hip-hop? Meehh. Except for Lupe Fiasco the scene/genre sucks lol. But its probably me and the fact that i don't like music based entirely on musicless vocals :p

Trip-hop is good though :o

(also the intrumental amon tobin/dj shadow etc. stuff but probably this has nothing to do with hip-hop in the traditional sense)

No, you definitely don't know much about hip hop.
