Guys, GUYS! Chill out. We can all dislike whichever books we wish!

My reasoning for disiking 1984 is because I was introduced to "We" first. I find that Orwell's writing style was not suited for such an important story such as 1984 (Dystopian future; Always relevant to society, IMO) Mainly because Orwell was simply an observer of any society even closely resembling the one portrayed in 1984. I think this made for a very bland book, where I didn't feel for the characters or the society at all.

Now, I'm not saying 1984 is irrelevent. Not in American society (I tend to steer toward A Brave new world.) China has some aspects that resemble 1984, moreso than any other nation, probably in history.

Let's just accept other's opinions. We shan't argue anything concerning these books, because you should have exhausted such debates in high school!

Also: I'm in Kandahar, not Kabul. Kabul is boring! :p

I couldn't agree more :)

As a matter or fact, I was just talking about books... and then I was taken aback by whatever it is that happened here.

Neither did I. Even the sex scene made me cringe, and I was glad when Winston was shot because I was on the verge of shooting myself by then :p
