I may have a few screws loose but I do have an intimate relationship with Jesus.
When it gets thick and thin, I say "Get away from me satan. Check my relationship status, it says taken." |
That's fortunate, you don't have to think about anything anymore. :gsmile:
But I'm afraid you'll find the romance one-sided. |

Ive skimmed through this thread, didnt read everything.
I just dont get one thing. You believe in Christ, great...so do I. Why do you keep preaching about it, esp to ppl (most) on this forum that dont want anything to do with hearing/learning etc?
Do what you believe in, you said it once, ok...no need to beat a dead horse |
I made this thread because the holy spirit had confidence in me to stand up to non-believers and build a bridge, albeit any demon living under it. The devil is the epitome of hatred, and I wanted to show that Jesus is the beacon of light in a fallen world.
"Blessed are you when people, insult you, persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you because of me." - Matthew 5:11
I've had to trust in that verse even when it hurts. |

Imagine a modern day Jesus, claiming he could do all he purportedly did. I'm convinced he would be sectioned as a seriously psychotic individual.
I do believe Jesus suffered from mental illness. |

Yes, this too.
Apart from getting killed horribly at the end of it, I bet getting high all ing day long and listening to each other tell ultimate 1up-manship stories all night would be a cool life style. Then eat some bread. |

I would suggest you you that there are better ways to evangalise. You're apporaching it in a manner that implicitly touts your superiority over those to whom you are speaking. As nice as that verse from Matthew may be what you are saying to most people reading those words is that their less than favourable replies to your posts elevates you in the eyes of God... which in turns tells them that you believe God holds you more dear then he does them. Of course I know that isn't really what you mean, nor is it true, but others will take it that way. This is one of the main reasons I believe that you cannot preach to people and expect them to ve impressed unless they already agree. Spouting verses is not going to win the support of anyone. My recommendation; stop preaching love and start living it, stop telling people how great it is to serve God and start serving man, stop talking and start acting. Jesus didn't tell his disiples to give great speaches extolling the virtues of washing feet; rather, he washed their feet and instructed them to do the same. Matts, if you want to show people the love of Christ then put down the keyboard and pick up a bucket and sponge. |

im not saying what your doing is wrong, but Jesus didnt go around deep-throating the good word. People chose to follow him. You spread the good news, and its up to people to accept it or deny it. You cant force people. Im a believer and its annoying, I can only imagine people who dont care.
you told your message, now move on. Stop making threads and keep repeating yourself. |

Proof of the existence of God is outweighed by proof that Matt is trolling. |

You make perfect sense. I know there's a lot of gaps in online chatting that could never make up for real-life interpersonal communication. But you're assuming that others think I'm superior to them? I know being self-righteous is a despicable sin since the pharisees reflected that, but I've tried to be kind to everyone with no restraint. If it wasn't for Jesus, I would've definitely got even with all my adversaries, even if they were just poking fun. Imagine if people here were calling you names because you're an anomaly who they consider a troll. I doubt they think I'm superior, but rather more like a footstool for them to step on.
I agree that my fingertips need to grasp people's feet and not scrambled letters. God likes doers, not talkers.
I appreciate your tough love though because I do need a reality check. |
