Most of the Djs first mission was to give the best track list on their sets but today it is all about money. The only thing Armin care is, money. If Armin decides to play some Indian rocks you guys like that too. Why because Armin is the best! |
That is matter of option again.Armin cares about money and most of mainstream Dj's are that not science. Things have changed but between what is left there is not lot of options. I will go to Armins party and few other dj's that still play some trance. The dj that i want never come to NY so rather hear Armin than some other options that are offered like house and techno djs. Very few djs that play trance are coming so if i had to chose between mainstream and none ill chose mainstream trance and those few djs that will at last play some trance. The price is bit much but they not coming all the time.
Old crobar prices are long gone, no one gets in for 30 let alone Armin now, common sense. |

not to keep this ridiculous conversation going, but this is new year's eve. getting into a dive bar costs $50 and gets you 1 drink ticket. that's just the nature of new year's eve in the most expensive/over-priced city in the world.
$200 is obviously expensive for any party. but on new year's, with arguably the biggest DJ on the planet. they added a few hours of open bar and made the party 21+. this party, in 2012, would never be under the price point it is now.
it's definitely a big pay day for armin, as it is for any DJ spinning NYE. most DJs spin 2 parties a night on new year's and rake in as much money as possible. no one goes out on NYE hoping to hear the most legendary, journey set. they go out because it's just a big party night.
i just watched an armin interview from last week where he said he intends to make the ASOT 600 parties completely affordable. we'll see how that ends up - if it's true, cool. if it's false then he can suck it :) |

Anyone to to their parties before? How are they? How are the crowds? I thought this was an electro/dubstep promoter but maybe not. The only thing I've heard about them is how some chicks who were suing them due to eye damage from a glow pool, lol |

So did I actually. I guess this is another promoter that sounds similar.
Lee Buridge ADID party was amazing during the summer. Crowd was very chill and mature, music was great and the whole vibe was amazing. Smiles all around. |

Yea the ADID parties are good. But Unicorn Meat parties are totally diff. Their Haloween party was all electro and Dubstep so I was surprised when I saw Lee and Dear |

re: Unicorn Meat
Their parties actually look pretty solid, decoration and venue wise. Their promo materials lead me to believe they're not amateurs, but I have no idea who they are. Their parties have been not house/techno/trance as far as I've seen. I'm kind of excited about this party but I may be Seattle for NYE, don't know. |

Yeah, the decor looks pretty good and it looks like they actually put quality work into their shows.
Also, I look at who are my mutual friends that like their FB page. Know their taste in music, shows and DJ's, I know this promoter has to be somewhat decent....obviously it depends who they bring in. |

I dont know you but I hate Armin, AvB and Tiesto now. They discovered a genre years ago "TRANCE" and it was fantastic. I remember those tobaccoware house events when Armin dropped delirium silence of 2000 tiesto remix and cried end of the event. I wish those people who really like Armin, could be in those events.
Dont get offended but, for those who listen to Armin, Tiesto and most very known trance(!) djs dont know them before 2004.
PS: PvD is at Pacha only $30. He is the only one didnt involved into making money events.
We need change.. |
