So I'd check what is bookable with the VIP pass before buying it to be safe. Them, Courtyard (already fully booked) and Double Tree also have 3 day minimum stay requirements for the weekend.

Just snagged Double Tree separate living room with pullout sofa and bedroom with 2 queens for $209/night. Pretty much everywhere with rooms lefts offers free cancellation bookings so to be honest even if you're on the fence about going you might as well book something just in case.

DoubleTree is already up to $229.

I checked DoubleTree last night, it was $229. My Hilton Honours was giving me $219/night however.

Westin has a block reserved for Paxahau, so I'm hoping they got doubles. Either way, still pretty cheap.

I emailed the lady last night, and everyone who told me they had VIP last year, they all got rooms for $160-$170 per night.

Doubletree is still available for $209, but you need to book 3 nights, and use a code (SE works).

prices are up? Even then, what a ing joke.. $70 for 3 days and a hundred DJs. Was my first time last year and I had an absolute blast, thinking of doing it again with my friends. The whole weekend cost me $500 all included.. rental car, hotel, spending money, afterparty.

Got an email from Paxahau today RE:Hotels, she said they're confirmed discounted rates at the Westin this year, suites, doubles and king singles. She said she'll get back to me by end of next week once prices are confirmed since they have a new point of contact at the hotel but she assumes that they will be the same or similar to last years ($190/night including tax+fees).

these overpriced hotels. I'm doing up a hostel this year! $30 for a room that sleeps four? :haha:

You should see the sketchy people staying in the 4star hotels this weekend, I can only imagine the people in the hostels! :nervous:

Just booked at the Doubletree. prices went up fast. 399 per night for a 2 queen bed suite off of priceline. Looks like we'll have enough people in the room to make it not to horrible however. My big question is, has booking on Priceline screwed me over, or will the hotel be fine with that sort of booking?

$400/night for a room in Detroit? Jesus! :nervous:

I know...I feel slightly violated, but last year we stayed super far from the festival and it was quite a hassle. Hoping to cram 8 people in the room...

Wouldn't it just be wise to book a hotel near the border on the Windsor side and save yourself the hassle of paying a fortune per night? Or is everyone afraid of getting car-jacked?
