Wouldn't it just be wise to book a hotel near the border on the Windsor side and save yourself the hassle of paying a fortune per night? Or is everyone afraid of getting car-jacked? |
very inconvenient to cross back and forth |

Just booked at the Doubletree. prices went up fast. 399 per night for a 2 queen bed suite off of priceline. Looks like we'll have enough people in the room to make it not to horrible however. My big question is, has booking on Priceline screwed me over, or will the hotel be fine with that sort of booking? |
n00b. run a search for detroit hotels there. rooms available for 150-200 close to Hart Plaza
http://www.hotels.com/
edit: holy prices are going up fast on this site too |

$399?!?! :nervous: :eyespop:
So glad I got mine from Westin with the VIP for $189 a night! :D
I paid $229 a night last year for DoubleTree. I think you need to book all three days to get it at the normal rate. |

| Thanks for the links! Going to confer with people and see what they say. If I do wind up sticking with the Doubletree (for whatever reason...) does anyone know if they put a limit on people per room? I do know that most places charge a fee per person over the limit. |

Pretty sure it's 4 per room. But you can easily fit 6 or so in there. Two queens in the back room, and a sofa bed in the front. Big rooms too, so if someone is cool with crashing on the floor, you can get 7 or 8...
BUT.. make sure you behave and don't get a noise complaint or anything, if they come in and find extra people they will kick them out, even if you say they're guests because you're not "allowed" to after 10pm.
DoubleTree is pretty sweet tho, been there the past 3 years for DEMF. Be good, don't be douches and respect the hotel and staff, they're great to you! |

| Ended up at the Detroit Regency Hotel for an average of $109/night for a 3 night stay (sat, sun, mon). That comes with 2 double beds good for 4 people. A room with one king sized bed averages for $103. This hotel is a 20 minute walk from the festival too. Not the greatest hotel but I don't plan on spending much time at the hotel anyways ;) |

And it's not sketch in a good way... it's pretty ghetto... I don't like driving there after dark let alone walking. And I'm from around here. |

| Lol, I made the mistake of not reading the online reviews until after you guys mentioned something. Likely switching to the holiday in express now |
