WRONG! They said in their open letter which was published a few months ago that they were releasing early birds so early to let people buy their tickets cheap and in advanced waves because they said tickets will be going up this year and they don't want it to shock the fans/crowds etc.

I don't know how hard you ball, but $20 and $30 is still some money to be saved, and even more for VIP (which is well worth it for DEMF!) I paid an extra $50 per ticket because I missed Wave 1 and got mine in Wave 2, now is Wave 3, so, just saying, if you know you're going, might as well get the now before either VIP ($230 Wave 3)is sold out (again), or the GA while it's only $110 (Gone above $100).
I know it kinda sucks that the price is going up, but good on Paxahau for at least giving people close to 8 months prior warning and didn't just surprise everyone, not to mention, giving people the chance to ge their tickets early.
- First wave 1 (early bird) tickets for GA were $70, wave 2 was $90, wave 3 is $110.
- First wave 1 (early bird) tickets for VIP were $150, wave 2 was $200, wave 3 is $230
Who knows what the next waves will be, or the door/gate.
So, I'll say it again...

Yeah, it's money, but the price differences last year were minuscule compared to other festivals
And I don't ball that hard.. which is why I never get VIP for any event ever :p
Having said all that, I would've gotten tickets the day they went on sale if I had any plans to go this year |

DEMF is the only event I get VIP for, and it's for the hotel deal alone mainly, I pay an extra $80-$100 for VIP ticket, and I save more than $100 a night on my hotel with the Paxahau/Westin deal. It's well worth it, plus then you get the other VIP perks like drink tickets, private bathrooms, separate entrance etc.

I'm thinking about that as well, time off considering. But that weekend I wanna also consider the return of the old(new) DEMF that weekend in Detroit in Detroit at Ford Field and Campus Martius Park. Plus it's free, which would be nice because i'm hoping to be at the Canada Day island party the Tuesday prior.
