Didn't see any other threads about it...
But season 3 premiered on Sunday, so let's discuss! I only just finished watching the 2nd season in a 2 day marathon 2 weeks ago and I was already confused during the premier.
I am in love with Ygritte (Hottie redhead wildling).

| I noticed it didn't follow the novel exactly.. Disappointed they split the third book into 2 seasons as the third book was probably the best one. That being said it was pretty cool ! The unsullied getting his nipple cut off made me twitch |

And that's a bad thing because......?
Anyways, I love the show even if it seems like the producers are clueless as to what they're doing at times (the season 3 opening didn't really make sense, for one)...and I'm still holding a bit of a grudge for what they did with the House of the Undying part in the show vs. the book version.
Other than that it's a great, one-of-a-kind show. I just hope they tone down on the unnecessary sex scenes and replace them with stuff that fleshes out characters and their stories, but this is HBO so there's probably a sex scene quota they have to hit.
I gotta say Ygritte looks way better in outside of the show. Same with Dany. |

Well as someone who read the books I knew what they were attempting to show, however the way they showed it was terrible, and I can't imagine how someone who hasn't read the books would accurately figure out what happened. I've seen people who were under the impression that the Night's Watch won, which is the exact opposite times 10. Blunders like that are what bring this show down imo.
And Sam DID send the ravens, except there were no messages attached to them. So he wasn't a total up. I don't see why they wouldn't go with that route for the show too, instead of making him even more useless. Ugh...
edit My favourite scenes from the episode were Tyrion and Tywin's conversation (oh and Cersei's little nod to the books "They all said you lost your nose, but it's not that bad"), finally seeing the giants on screen, and dragons!!! |
